BACH Physical Therapy Department
Physical therapy is a branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities.
The Physical Therapy Department at Bassett Army Community Hospital also provides the following services:
Injury Reserve Physical Training (IRPT) Trainer Course: certifies IRPT instructors, provides information to establish reconditioning programs in accordance with FM 7-22 and Building the Soldiers Athlete;
Aquatics PT: learn to lead PT in the pool and provide alternate low impact exercises for the injured population;
Injury Prevention: instructs on the basic principles of musculaskeletal injury prevention and how to optimize performance;
Mobility, Agility and Recovery: provides instruction on dynamic warm ups, agility and recovery drills;
ACFT Introduction: overview of standards and alternate exercises to be successful on the ACFT

Housing Environmental Health Response Registry (HEHRR)
The Housing Environmental Health Response Registry is a resource for residents (ALL DoD, including AF and Navy) to report current and/or past housing-related health information and concerns. Registry participants will receive information on in-home environmental health, assistance in seeking medical care, and an opportunity to share concerns with Army leadership.
Those with concerns related to off-post housing may enroll in the registry, but will also need to contact the local public heath department (Fairbanks Regional Public Health Center) for additional assistance.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist
State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program Each state health department has an infectious disease epidemiology program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. Many states provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.

Mold & Indoor Air Quality
This page contains information, guidance and tools on indoor air quality (IAQ) and mold. IAQ refers to the air quality within and around buildings and structures and is not limited to mold. Army Installation Industrial Hygienists typically conduct IAQ Surveys at the request of their clients. Mold growth issues are often a part of an IAQ issue, and addressed at the same time. IAQ and mold growth can occur in any indoor space, and often are caused by a number of issues including but not limited to heating, ventilating and air conditioning issues, water intrusion (flooding, roof leaks, and plumbing issues), improper maintenance, and exposure to elements.

Ready and Resilient Performance Center (R2 Performance Center)
Ready and Resilient (R2) is the Army's strategy for strengthening individual and unit Personal Readiness and fostering a culture of trust. R2 provides training and resources to the Army Family to enhance resilience and optimize performance.
Services include:
Master Resilience Trainer Certification (MRT-C): certifies Soldiers to teach resilience skills to units and family members (completion earns Soldiers an 8R identifier;
Leader Development Course: develops mental, performance and leadership skills for Soldiers in leadership roles;
Deployment Cycle Resilience Training (DCRT): certifies 8R to teach DCRT, which help prepare Soldiers and family members for deployment and return;
Performance Enhancement Training: series of lessons teaching the performance psychology skills of Mindset, Imagery, Attention Control, Building Confidence and Goal Setting (one-on-one or groups, compliments PT);
Engage: bystander intervention training to promotion prosocial behavior in order to help others engaging in risk-taking behavior;
Not in My Squad (NIMS): facilitated discussion to identify Battalion-Level themes related to mutual trust and cohesion in order to empower squad leaders, inform Command Teams and improve trust and cohesion in Battalions;
Academic Performance Training (APT): series of lessons teaching academic based skills in order to improve memory and recall, enhance note taking, improve studying, reduce test-taking anxiety and improve mindset toward learning.

State Epidemiologist
State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist, each state has an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory
Each state has a public health laboratory that conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. All state public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.
