Army Emergency Relief (AER)

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private, non-profit organization established to assist Soldiers and their Family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment.

Breast Feeding

New parent support. Meet new people and gather support for breastfeeding, Meet-ups are a great opportunity for expecting moms, new moms, or experience moms to meet, discuss issues or concerns ask questions and share stories. A certified Lactation Counselor available on-site.

The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program offers a multitude of support services, information and referral, and crisis intervention. Crisis intervention services include: client intake and assessment, referrals to military and civilian resources, ongoing support and follow up services, and information on reporting child abuse and neglect. Regularly scheduled classes are offered to the community, along with detailed briefings for units, Family Readiness Groups, and other groups interested in learning more about domestic violence and child maltreatment prevention and safety Education;.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) works in concert with other military and civilian agencies, provides a comprehensive multi-agency approach for community support, housing, medical, Education;al, and personnel services to Families with special needs.

Crisis Intervention Services

ACS Family Advocacy Program (FAP) crisis intervention services are provided on a short term, temporary basis and are focused on promoting stability by assisting individuals in a crisis situation with resuming a normal level of function and minimizing the potential for trauma. Crisis intervention services include: client intake and assessment, safety planning, referrals to military and civilian resources, ongoing support and follow up services, and information on reporting domestic abuse, child abuse, and intimate partner sexual assault.

Domestic Violence

The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program provides comprehensive support to victims of domestic abuse, child abuse, and intimate partner sexual assault. FAP Victim Advocacy services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and include: crisis intervention, information on reporting options, safety planning, assistance in securing medical treatment for injuries, information on legal rights and proceedings, and referral to military and civilian shelters and other resources available to victims. Regularly scheduled classes are offered to the community, along with detailed briefings for units, Family Readiness Groups, and other groups interested in learning more about domestic violence and child maltreatment prevention and safety Education;.

The Employment Readiness Program provides information and referral services on employment, education, training, transition and volunteer opportunities to give family members the competitive edge needed to secure meaningful employment.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to Families with special needs. Soldiers on active duty enroll in the program when they have a Family member with a physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorder requiring specialized services so their needs can be considered in the military personnel assignment process..

Family Advocacy Program in Europe (FAP-E)

The FAP-E outreach and prevention program is designed to strengthen and improve the quality of life for our military Families by increasing self-sufficiency, resiliency and community cohesion for active duty, Family members, civilians and retirees. Together with garrison and host nation agencies, FAP-E provides a multitude of programs and services designed to build individual and Family strengths as well as advocate for non-violent communities.

Army Community Service (ACS) provides a comprehensive array of programs and services that focus on promoting self-reliance, resiliency, and maintaining the readiness of soldiers, families and military communities at large. Financial Readiness Program

This program emphasizes personal financial responsibility and accountability by providing basic principles and practices of sound money management, counseling tools and referral services. Financial guidance is offered to those experiencing money management difficulties or for those who wish to be in control of their finances. A personalized budget and spending plan can be drawn up to your needs. Information and assistance is also available in areas such as military pay and allowances, consumer fraud, savings, insurance, car buying, home buying credit card management and much more. ACS Financial Planning and Consumer Affairs can help with budgeting, managing debt, and check writing classes. It offers consumer education classes, and consumer complaint advice and referral.

Home-based business (HBB)

HBBs allow Families to work from their Army quarters, developing rewarding careers that follow them through PCS moves. Mobilization, Deployment, and Support Stability Operations (MDSSO)

The Mobilization, Deployment, and Support Stability Operations (MDSSO) helps support community readiness during deployments and emergencies. We help make sure installation programs align with unit deployment cycles, provide pre- and post-deployment support, and help unit Commanders with their Family Readiness plans and deployment support services for Service Members and their Families. We’re responsible for operating an Emergency Family Assistance Center in the case of an all-hazards event, and supporting Service Members and Families during Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and Repatriation. We also act as a case manager for all requests for assistance through the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS).

Moral Leadership

ACS hosts a series of leadership training modules that focus on expanding moral and transformational leadership skills, building techniques to manage group conflict, learning how to mentor, coach, and motivate others, and much more.

New Parenthood

The New Parent Support Program is a voluntary program that assists military Families who are pregnant or have children birth through age three years understand the process of delivering a baby overseas and adapt to parenthood in healthy and resilient ways. The primary focus of NPSP is providing individualized home visitation services in the parent and child’s natural learning environment however services can occur in an office, hospital or community setting. Classes and groups are available which provide information on pregnancy, nutrition, parenting newborns and toddlers, problem solving and coping, discipline issues, social isolation, and military stressors. Services are available outside normal duties hours so working parents can participate.

Newcomer Orientation

The ACS Relocation Readiness Program provides a Host Nation Orientation training to help ease the transition to the Ansbach community by providing information on: German culture and customs to minimize the effects of culture “shock”, tips and pointers to help learn the German language, and a review of local community resources designed to help families make the most of their overseas tour.

Nutrition Education

Experienced professionals in the New Parent Support Program who have extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents today will help you learn to cope with everyday demands of parenthood, stress, isolation, deployment, reunion, & other essential family skills through one-on-one home or office visits. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

ACS provides training that allows participants to explore resources for those who are diagnosed with or exhibiting the signs of PTSD, learn how to pick up on the “cues for help” and know where to turn when symptoms are severe, persistent, or interfering with daily life. This training is ideal for Family members of deployed Soldiers who are seeking non-clinical information and support.

Pregnancy

Experienced professionals in the New Parent Support Program who have extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents today will help you learn to cope with everyday demands of parenthood, stress, isolation, deployment, reunion, & other essential family skills through one-on-one home or office visits. Self Esteem

ACS resilience training builds self-esteem by promoting optimistic mindsets and developing positive patterns of thinking that will have a direct impact on boosting confidence and the ability to “bounce back” from adversity.

The AFTB time management module explores several tools and techniques designed to help participants learn how to spend time wisely, manage and prioritize choices, and get the most out of every moment.

Defines categories of worksite violence, identifies warning signs of potential violence and demonstrates how to reduce risk of becoming a victim of worksite violence.

The ASCC Thrift Shop provides a place where donated goods may be sold. Customs Office

The Customs Office supports U.S. Army Europe's Provost Marshal by coordinating host nation customs policy and programs affecting the U.S. Forces and U.S. members in Germany. The Office enforces the NATO Status of Forces Agreement with its supplementary agreement and investigates violations of customs and tax privileges which are granted to U.S. Forces personnel in Germany.

DoDEA school counselors provide comprehensive counseling programs to all students in grades K–12, in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 2946.1, “School Counseling Services,” July 13, 2009, and DoDEA Manual 2946.2, “Department of Defense Education Activity School Counseling Services,” January 1, 2006. Counseling programs are designed to foster a foundation for lifelong learning by removing barriers to students’ academic success. Early identification and intervention of students’ academic and social/emotional needs is essential in removing barriers to learning and promoting academic growth. School counselors provide direct and indirect student services and curricular activities to increase the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for students to achieve their potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically for life, college, and career readiness.

Secondary school counseling programs are designed to meet the rapidly changing needs of students in grades 6–12, while preparing them for high school and beyond. College and career exploration and planning are emphasized at the secondary level. As middle school students learn to manage more independence and responsibilities, school counseling programs are designed to connect learning to practical application in life and work, support personal/social skills, and foster effective learning/study skills. High school counseling programs are designed to foster student preparation and readiness for successful college and career pathways after high school. All secondary students create and manage a four- to six-year plan with their counselor. The four- to six-year plan is managed in Choices360 and is designed to teach students how to create and attain their graduation, college, and career goals, while taking into account their interests, aptitudes, and graduation requirements.

When you receive your PCS orders you're entitled to ship your privately owned vehicle (POV) from or between locations overseas. If you wish to ship your POV overseas it must be authorized on your orders. Alternate ports may be used if approved by the military traffic management command (MTMC). Fingerprinting Office

The USAG Ansbach Security office provides security, information security, fingerprinting and foreign travel reporting support as well as timely travel warnings to U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach personnel and tenant organizations.

Passport and SOFA Services

Passports are renewable one year prior to the expiration date. European countries require 6 months remaining on the passport to make entry, plan accordingly. Make your appointment to renew your passport 8-9 months before expiration. Passport agents will make a copy of all your passports and certify that they have seen the originals. For most renewals, you retain your current passport until the new one arrives at the Passport Office. Exceptions: Expiration date is within the application month. Lost/Stolen/Mutilated or initial applications require an original birth certificate, applications for a Diplomatic or to replace a Diplomatic with an Official/No-Fee require the passport to be sent in, and reports of birth abroad require all original documents to be sent to the Frankfurt Consulate.
