The Ansbach Legal Assistance Office offers free legal advice in Ansbach and Illesheim. Certified military and/or Army civilian attorneys advise on most areas of civil law, including consumer law issues, contract disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, contract review, creditor problems, nonsupport, immigration, motor vehicle laws, merchant scams, wills, powers of attorney, bankruptcy and indebtedness, separation/divorce, notarizations and taxation.

Ansbach Vehicle Processing Center (VPC)
When you receive your PCS orders you're entitled to ship your privately owned vehicle (POV) from or between locations overseas. If you wish to ship your POV overseas it must be authorized on your orders. Alternate ports may be used if approved by the military traffic management command (MTMC). Requests to use an alternate port should be addressed to the Personal Property Shipping Office (PPSO).
Army Emergency Relief (AER)
Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private, non-profit organization established to assist Soldiers and their Family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment.

Casualty and Mortuary Affairs (DHR)
To assist and support families in an emotionally stressful time of bereavement, as well as provide training and resources to all Soldiers serving in a casualty notification or assistance capacity and to those dedicated professionals assisting family members in their greatest time of need. Casualty Assistance provides assistance to next-of-kin of critically injured, ill or deceased Army soldiers, retirees, and veterans to include Benefits Counseling; Military Funeral Honors; and Casualty Assistance/Notification Officer training (CAO/CNO).
Child Abuse & Neglect
Evaluation and treatment for domestic sexual assault/rape, child and adult physical abuse, child sexual abuse, and child neglect and deployment related issues which have reached crisis proportions. Crisis intervention services for situations involving rape, child and adult physical abuse, child sexual abuse and child neglect are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks through Family Advocacy.

The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program offers a multitude of support services, information and referral, and crisis intervention. Crisis intervention services include: client intake and assessment, referrals to military and civilian resources, ongoing support and follow up services, and information on reporting child abuse and neglect. Regularly scheduled classes are offered to the community, along with detailed briefings for units, Family Readiness Groups, and other groups interested in learning more about domestic violence and child maltreatment prevention and safety Education;.

Experienced professionals in the New Parent Support Program who have extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents today will help you learn to cope with everyday demands of parenthood, stress, isolation, deployment, reunion, & other essential family skills through one-on-one home or office visits. These parent Education; services will include detailed information regarding parenting issues.
Child, Young and School Services (CYS)
USAG Ansbach Child, Youth and School (CYS) Services programs are designed to help children and youth build within themselves a positive self-concept that will help develop them into productive caring adults. We provide safe, healthy, and stimulating environments where children and youth feel accepted and respected, as well as having the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate developmental activities. We strive to provide a place where they can safely express their feelings without withdrawing, fighting, or giving up their rights. Children and youth are free to make choices and accept responsibility for those choices through character building education that will help develop and nurture a spirit of cooperation, creative problem solving, and individual responsibility.

The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center is made up of a team of human resources professionals dedicated to supporting and empowering soldiers, civilians, families and veterans worldwide in an era of persistent conflict. The CPAC office is responsible for recruiting, retaining and sustaining a high quality volunteer force through innovative and effective enterprise solutions and ensures human resources readiness of the Total Army across the full spectrum of operations.
Claims Assistance (ALC)
The Personal Property Processing Office provides counseling and assistance to Department of Defense military and civilian personnel moving in and out of the USAG Ansbach area of responsibility. PPPO staff makes every effort to ensure you are informed about your entitlements and your personal property shipment is handled professionally with all the courtesy you deserve.

Counterintelligence, USAG Ansbach Field Office
Conducts continuous counterintelligence (CI) collection, investigations and operations in support of USAG Bavaria to develop early warning of terrorist activities and deny adversary intelligence of sensitive and critical U.S. forces order of battle, technologies, vulnerabilities, capabilities and intentions.
Crisis Intervention Services
ACS Family Advocacy Program (FAP) crisis intervention services are provided on a short term, temporary basis and are focused on promoting stability by assisting individuals in a crisis situation with resuming a normal level of function and minimizing the potential for trauma. Crisis intervention services include: client intake and assessment, safety planning, referrals to military and civilian resources, ongoing support and follow up services, and information on reporting domestic abuse, child abuse, and intimate partner sexual assault.
Customs Office
The Customs Office supports U.S. Army Europe's Provost Marshal by coordinating host nation customs policy and programs affecting the U.S. Forces and U.S. members in Germany. The Office enforces the NATO Status of Forces Agreement with its supplementary agreement and investigates violations of customs and tax privileges which are granted to U.S. Forces personnel in Germany.

Defense Enrollment Eligibility Report System (DEERS) and ID Card Section (DHR)
The ID Card Section at the Central Processing Facility at Katterbach Kaserne, part of the Directorate of Human Resources, helps newcomers gain their Common Access Card identifications (CAC). DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC WORKS (DPW)
The Directorate of Public Works at U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach provides exceptional infrastructure, engineering resources, housing and facility management support and services incorporating sustainable development. The DPW team seeks to ensure the longterm viability of USAG Ansbach's support to the military and community, advancing environmental stewardship, community relations, and quality of life. Domestic Violence
The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program provides comprehensive support to victims of domestic abuse, child abuse, and intimate partner sexual assault. FAP Victim Advocacy services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and include: crisis intervention, information on reporting options, safety planning, assistance in securing medical treatment for injuries, information on legal rights and proceedings, and referral to military and civilian shelters and other resources available to victims. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A voluntary, confidential program that helps employees (including management) work through various life challenges that may adversely affect job performance, health, and personal well-being and to optimize an organization's success. The Army’s EAP includes a wide variety of services to promote productivity, reduce absenteeism, enhance job performance and/or well-being, and support worksite safety, in order to ensure the Army’s mission is accomplished in an efficient manner.
Employment Readiness Program (ERP)
The Employment Readiness Program provides information and referral services on employment, education, training, transition and volunteer opportunities to give family members the competitive edge needed to secure meaningful employment.
Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)
The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to Families with special needs. Soldiers on active duty enroll in the program when they have a Family member with a physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorder requiring specialized services so their needs can be considered in the military personnel assignment process..
Family Advocacy Program in Europe (FAP-E)
The FAP-E outreach and prevention program is designed to strengthen and improve the quality of life for our military Families by increasing self-sufficiency, resiliency and community cohesion for active duty, Family members, civilians and retirees. Together with garrison and host nation agencies, FAP-E provides a multitude of programs and services designed to build individual and Family strengths as well as advocate for non-violent communities.
Family Issues and Support Services
Army Community Service (ACS) provides a comprehensive array of programs and services that focus on promoting self-reliance, resiliency, and maintaining the readiness of soldiers, families and military communities at large. Whether one-on-one or through a group training, ACS can help build the skills needed to cope with challenges such as: the everyday demands of parenthood/marriage, negative effects of stress and anger, moving with the military and finding opportunities to get involved, military mission demands such as deployments and reunions, financial planning and assistance, and much more.
Financial Readiness Program
This program emphasizes personal financial responsibility and accountability by providing basic principles and practices of sound money management, counseling tools and referral services. Financial guidance is offered to those experiencing money management difficulties or for those who wish to be in control of their finances. A personalized budget and spending plan can be drawn up to your needs. Information and assistance is also available in areas such as military pay and allowances, consumer fraud, savings, insurance, car buying, home buying credit card management and much more. ACS Financial Planning and Consumer Affairs can help with budgeting, managing debt, and check writing classes. It offers consumer education classes, and consumer complaint advice and referral.
Fingerprinting Office
The USAG Ansbach Security office provides security, information security, fingerprinting and foreign travel reporting support as well as timely travel warnings to U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach personnel and tenant organizations.

HBBs allow Families to work from their Army quarters, developing rewarding careers that follow them through PCS moves. Mobilization, Deployment, and Support Stability Operations (MDSSO)
The Mobilization, Deployment, and Support Stability Operations (MDSSO) helps support community readiness during deployments and emergencies. We help make sure installation programs align with unit deployment cycles, provide pre- and post-deployment support, and help unit Commanders with their Family Readiness plans and deployment support services for Service Members and their Families. We’re responsible for operating an Emergency Family Assistance Center in the case of an all-hazards event, and supporting Service Members and Families during Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and Repatriation. We also act as a case manager for all requests for assistance through the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS).
Moral Leadership
ACS hosts a series of leadership training modules that focus on expanding moral and transformational leadership skills, building techniques to manage group conflict, learning how to mentor, coach, and motivate others, and much more.
New Parenthood
The New Parent Support Program is a voluntary program that assists military Families who are pregnant or have children birth through age three years understand the process of delivering a baby overseas and adapt to parenthood in healthy and resilient ways. The primary focus of NPSP is providing individualized home visitation services in the parent and child’s natural learning environment however services can occur in an office, hospital or community setting. Classes and groups are available which provide information on pregnancy, nutrition, parenting newborns and toddlers, problem solving and coping, discipline issues, social isolation, and military stressors. Services are available outside normal duties hours so working parents can participate.
Newcomer Orientation
The ACS Relocation Readiness Program provides a Host Nation Orientation training to help ease the transition to the Ansbach community by providing information on: German culture and customs to minimize the effects of culture “shock”, tips and pointers to help learn the German language, and a review of local community resources designed to help families make the most of their overseas tour.
Nutrition Education
Experienced professionals in the New Parent Support Program who have extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents today will help you learn to cope with everyday demands of parenthood, stress, isolation, deployment, reunion, & other essential family skills through one-on-one home or office visits. These parent Education services will include detailed information regarding nutrition and feeding, as well as referrals to civilian agencies relating to infant and child nutrition.

The Office of the Inspector General is the eyes, ears, voice, and conscience of the Army across the spectrum of operations. It conducts thorough, objective, and impartial inspections, assessments, and investigations. It provides assistance and training. The Office of the Inspector General advises and assists Army leaders to maintain Army values, readiness, and effectiveness in the promotion of well-being, good order, and discipline.

Passport and SOFA Services
Passports are renewable one year prior to the expiration date. European countries require 6 months remaining on the passport to make entry, plan accordingly. Make your appointment to renew your passport 8-9 months before expiration. Passport agents will make a copy of all your passports and certify that they have seen the originals. For most renewals, you retain your current passport until the new one arrives at the Passport Office. Exceptions: Expiration date is within the application month. Lost/Stolen/Mutilated or initial applications require an original birth certificate, applications for a Diplomatic or to replace a Diplomatic with an Official/No-Fee require the passport to be sent in, and reports of birth abroad require all original documents to be sent to the Frankfurt Consulate. Average return time for Tourist Passports is 2-3 weeks Average return time for Official/No-Fee/Diplomatic Passports is 6-8 weeks Average return time for Reports of Birth Abroad/Passport for newborns is 6-8 weeks

Any patient admitted to a German facility will be visited by a patient liaison. Our liaisons are fluent in both English and German and will check on you each weekday you're in the hospital. They can speak to the medical staff on your behalf and assist you with being admitted and discharged from the hospital.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
ACS provides training that allows participants to explore resources for those who are diagnosed with or exhibiting the signs of PTSD, learn how to pick up on the “cues for help” and know where to turn when symptoms are severe, persistent, or interfering with daily life. This training is ideal for Family members of deployed Soldiers who are seeking non-clinical information and support.
Pregnancy
Experienced professionals in the New Parent Support Program who have extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents today will help you learn to cope with everyday demands of parenthood, stress, isolation, deployment, reunion, & other essential family skills through one-on-one home or office visits. These parent Education; services will include detailed information regarding pregnancy issues, breastfeeding, and offers tours of the host nation hospital birthing unit.

Resilience Training - Ready and Resilient (R2) Training Center
Resilience is the “mental, emotional, and behavioral ability to face and cope with adversity, adapt to change, and recover, learn and grow from setbacks." R2 Training Centers provide resilience skills that build self-awareness, self-regulation, optimistic and adaptive thinking, character strengths, and stronger relationships, thereby contributing to personal readiness.

Safety Office
Provides safety training and safety and risk management consultation. They are also responsible for managing the Army Traffic Safety Training Program (motorcycle safety, remedial driving, and more).
School Counseling Services for Middle School/High School
DoDEA school counselors provide comprehensive counseling programs to all students in grades K–12, in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 2946.1, “School Counseling Services,” July 13, 2009, and DoDEA Manual 2946.2, “Department of Defense Education Activity School Counseling Services,” January 1, 2006. Counseling programs are designed to foster a foundation for lifelong learning by removing barriers to students’ academic success. Early identification and intervention of students’ academic and social/emotional needs is essential in removing barriers to learning and promoting academic growth. School counselors provide direct and indirect student services and curricular activities to increase the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for students to achieve their potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically for life, college, and career readiness.
School Liaison Officer (SLO)
Assist families with school transfers and help "leveling the playing field" for military children and youth through direct family interaction and through "paving the way" with local schools.
Self Care
The Family Advocacy Program offers classes on Stress and Anger Management. Discuss and learn skills, coping strategies, and self-care techniques for the management of stress and anger in order to improve communication, reduce conflict, and promote healthier relationships and lifestyles.
Self Esteem
ACS resilience training builds self-esteem by promoting optimistic mindsets and developing positive patterns of thinking that will have a direct impact on boosting confidence and the ability to “bounce back” from adversity.
Sexual Assault Training
Provides sexual harassment and sexual assault training to address prevention at the earliest point in the continuum of harm. This approach is unique among the Services, but is designed to address behaviors before they escalate into more serious offenses.

Small and large group training designed to mitigate suicidal behavior through Education; and awareness. Trainings include ACE-SI, ACE, ASIST and focused prevention trainings.

The Army Education Center
The Army Education Centers serving USAG Ansbach are located on Katterbach Kaserne and Storck Barracks and offer Soldiers, civilians and family members continuing education options. The Education Staff provides quality services and programs to active duty, retirees, civilians and family members. Professional guidance counselors provide a full range of adult and continuing education counseling. Individual counseling is available during duty hours on a walk-in basis.
Thrift Shop (Katterbach)
The ASCC Thrift Shop provides a place where donated goods may be sold. Profits generated from sales are returned to the community through the Ansbach Spouses’ and Civilians’ Club (ASCC) Welfare Account. The Thrift Shop is operated as a community service, with the first priority always being the needs of the military community members. The activities of the Thrift Shop are governed by applicable ASCC By-Laws and the Thrift Shop SOP.
