The primary mission is to support the Armed Forces community. This resource provides help with emergency communication for a military family, when other means of communication have not worked. The Emergency Communications provides 24/7 emergency communication service to military Families. The Red Cross will provide referrals and resources to assist military Families in times of disaster, and financial need. The American Red Cross believes it is important to prepare family members to deal with the challenges of serving at home while their loved one is deployed. Coping with Deployments: Psychological First Aid for Military Families was developed out of the Red Cross' continuing commitment to serving military families wherever they reside. This course provides useful information on how to strengthen your ability to respond to the challenges you may encounter throughout the deployment cycle. It was designed specifically for the spouses, parents, older children, siblings and significant others of service members, as well as for military members who may take the course with their family. Veterans and their family members are also eligible. This excellent course offers guidelines for increasing resiliency in ourselves and our children and also provides information on how to provide psychological first aid to others experiencing stressful feelings or events. The Junior Red Cross World War I inspired an official organization for young people: the American Junior Red Cross. Students knit scarves, rolled bandages and built furniture for hospitals and convalescent homes. They prepared and sent Friendship Boxes containing school and personal items to students overseas. They worked in Victory Gardens (vegetable gardens that added to the nation's food supply) and raised funds. In fact, Junior Red Cross members contributed an amazing $3,677,380 to the Red Cross during the war. After the war, members of the Junior Red Cross kept working to make children’s lives better, both overseas and here at home. Through the National Children's Fund, the Junior Red Cross aided war victims and refugees throughout Europe and helped fight against the influenza pandemic which struck both Europe and America. Funds were raised to help victims of fires, floods and tornados and to support Native American schools in the American Southwest. During the Great Depression Junior Red Cross members distributed surplus wheat and cotton, collected clothing and food and canned fruits and vegetables. Junior Red Cross membership grew to almost 20 million during World War II. Activities ranged from the production of clothing, toys, furniture and art works to entertainment and recreational programs at military camps and hospitals. Following World War II, the Junior Red Cross continued some traditional programs, such as assistance to war veterans and their families, disaster relief, and public health. The Red Cross introduced an International Student Work-Study Program, started a High School Chest Program which sent school supplies to students who had lost them in natural disasters and set up Leadership Development Centers for junior and senior high school and college students. The Mobilization, Deployment, and Support Stability Operations (MDSSO) helps support community readiness during deployments and emergencies. We help make sure installation programs align with unit deployment cycles, provide pre- and post-deployment support, and help unit Commanders with their Family Readiness plans and deployment support services for Service Members and their Families. We’re responsible for operating an Emergency Family Assistance Center in the case of an all-hazards event, and supporting Service Members and Families during Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and Repatriation. The goal of the SNAP is to help all children reach and realize their full potential. The SNAP is a team that assists in determining the safest, least restrictive, and most appropriate placement of children with special needs who wish to use Child, Youth and School (CYS) Services. The SNAP team meets weekly and works with the parents to develop a care plan to ensure the child’s experiences in CYS Services are safe, memorable and successful. When the Family registers for any CYS Services program, and identifies a child with a condition, the process will be initiated. The SNAP team serves as an advocate to ensure the child’s rights are protected and respected.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) provides long-term support to surviving Families of fallen Soldiers. Our goal is to reassure survivors that they remain valued members of the Army Family. The SOS program connects you with people who can help. Our services include grief counseling, financial counseling, benefits coordination, support groups, and garrison and surrounding area events. After a loved one is lost, unresolved issues or questions may surface months or years afterward. The Army is dedicated to fulfilling its promise by providing support to surviving Families. Our financial counselors aid surviving Families through investment and estate planning education, and our support coordinators provide long-term support. SOS can help you navigate the details. SOS delivers services at garrisons and communities closest to where Families live. Regardless of your loved one’s component or branch, duty status, location, or manner of death, SOS will provide dedicated outreach and support when and as long as you desire. Army Emergency Relief is a private non-profit organization whose sole mission is to collect and hold funds to relieve financial distress to Soldiers and their family members. Army Emergency Relief exists solely for the Soldier and belongs to all Army people, active and retired, and to the spouses and orphans of deceased Soldiers.                           Provides financial assistance and guidance to AD and Retired dependents/soldiers for expenses including car repairs for primary vehicle, rent and deposit, funeral expenses, emergency travel expenses, assistance with necessities to prevent privation (i.e., food, lodging), pay entitlements that are due but not received, lost or stolen funds (police report required) and utilities/food.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Training (P3T); education provides training for enhanced knowledge, skills, and resources to assist Soldiers during pregnancy and postpartum, and prepare Soldiers for delivery, recovery, and parenting.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Training (P3T) exercise sessions assist Soldiers in maintaining optimal fitness during pregnancy and improving readiness postpartum, to return a fit Soldier back to unit PRT after maternity leave and the postpartum period.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator oversees the EAP, which is a job-based program to help employees in identifying and resolving personal problems that may affect their job performance and well-being.  This includes individual case consultation and assisting with related training for civilian employees.

Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care (SUDCC) is located at Ireland Army Health Clinic on Fort Knox. We provide services to active duty, along with Family members and Retirees when space is available.

The R-URI must be administered within a specific number of days following a unit's return from deployment. Commanders are responsible for scheduling a R-URI with ASAP office.

Point of Contact for the Army Suicide Prevention Programs, to the commander and major subordinate commands for both military and civilian members with the goal of reducing suicide.

The URI must be administered prior to deployment and at a minimum of once annually for all units. Commanders are responsible for scheduling a URI with ASAP office.

This group includes education and group processing to fully explore eight parenting lessons.  The lessons are a versatile means of education families on the philosophy and skills of nurturing parenting – a person proven evidenced based parenting program.  This is an eight (8) week class that required enrollment assessment by the facilitator.  The group meets Tuesdays 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Department of Behavioral Health provide psychoeducational briefings to units, FRGs, or other interested parties on "What resiliency is, building and keeping resiliency, specific BH concerns such as PTSD, TBI, depression, anxiety, etc., or an overview of signs and symptoms to look for in battle buddies or ourselves, and specific deployment and reintegration stressors and strategies.  Other topics such as eating disorders, the psychological motivations behind eating issues, etc. available upon request. Length of course determined by client need and availability.

The Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care is located at 200 Brule Street (Ireland Army Health Clinic) on Fort Knox. We provide services to active duty, along with Family members and Retirees when space is available.

This group is designed for women suffering with chronic pain.  Members of the group will learn coping skills for dealing with chronic pain and depressions and understanding resources available to manage pain.  The group is open to all female Soldiers and family members who are being seen in Behavioral Health.  The group meets Wednesday 1 p. m. to 3:30 p. m.

In 1991, the Chief of Staff of the Army officially expanded BOSS to include all aspects of Soldiers’ lives. In 2010, Fort Lewis and McChord Field merged to become Joint Base Lewis-McChord. An aspect of this merger was to encourage airmen to participate in the BOSS program, and thus BOSS was rechristened as Better Opportunities for Single Service members.

Provide compassionate  support to Families of deceased active duty Soldiers, retirees and veterans and wounded, ill or injured Soldiers while ensuring plans, programs and systems remain updated to provide timely support and ensure receipt of applicable benefits.  Provide mortuary services assistance as applicable.  Assist active duty Soldiers in the event of the loss of a spouse or child.  Coordinates military funeral honors for honorably discharged Army veterans, Army retirees or Soldiers who died on active duty and whose funeral is within the CAC area of responsibility.

Family Child Care (FCC) offers in-home care for ages 4 weeks -12 years old. Certified providers in on and off post homes. Providers can offer extended care available evenings and weekends.

The Child Development Center (CDC) offers programs for children 6 weeks to PreK Strong Beginnings. The CDC is a Nationally  Accredited by National Association for Education of Young Children. A Satellite site is at Bldg. 500 (old SFAC).

Youth Sports and Fitness Programs provide team sports, individual sports, fitness and health programs and, programming at Child Development Centers, School Age and Youth Programs. Pre-registration is required for Sports and Fitness Programs. Children and youth that are currently registered in CYS can be enrolled in Sports and Fitness using WebTrac. The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) has a website for evaluation of coaches. Parents have the opportunity to evaluate coaches on the NAYS website. Parents must have the coach member number to rate their coach. You can get this number from the CYS Sports and Fitness office. Sports Physical A sports-specific physical must be completed annually, prior to the start of the sports season. The form must be completed with a doctor’s signature and stamp, then submitted to Parent Central Services during registration. Hint: The best time to get your child’s physical — if possible — is in July. This way, your child’s physical will be valid for all sports for one full year.

Devers Middle School and Teen Program creates opportunities and supportive environments for culturally diverse youth in Middle School and High School to be capable, competent, and caring citizens. Devers Middle School and Teen Center delivers Youth Councils, Volunteer Community Services, Games and Leisure Activities, Computer Labs, Homework/Learning Centers, Tutoring, Individual/Group Sports and Fitness Activities, and Workforce Preparation. Youth can participate in after school clubs through Youth Services' association with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4-H.

The Donna Kirby School Age Center (SAC) Program is dedicated to supporting Families by providing age appropriate, educational, safe and supervised out-of-school option for Kindergarten through 5th grade youth. SAC is accredited through The Council on Accreditation (COA).

The Middle School & Teen (MST) Program offers a broad range of educational and recreational opportunities for Fort Knox 6th-12th graders in the following four service areas: Sports, Fitness and Health Options, Life Skills, Citizenship and Leadership Opportunities, Arts, Recreation and Leisure Activities, and Mentoring, Intervention and Academic Support Services.

The commissary provides groceries to military personnel, Retirees and their Families in a safe and secure shopping environment.

Created in recognition of military families and service members, the Scholarships for Military Children awards grants to college students of active-duty, Guard and Reserve or retired military commissary customers. Thanks to the generosity of Defense Commissary Agency partners and vendors, the program has awarded over $19 million dollars in scholarship grants to over 11,000 students since its inception in 2001. A total of 500 scholarship grants, each for $2,000, will be awarded for the 2020-21 school year. All applications must be submitted online for processing. We are a group class for diabetics who are newly diagnosed, having difficulty managing their disease, or need a refresher in  current diabetic management techniques.  Instructors from physical therapy, nursing, nutrition and pharmacy help patients learn how to manage diabetes better.  Open to all diabetes patients including Type 1 and Type 2.   No referral is needed.  Call the Nutrition Center for more information or to self-enroll.

Outpatient Records Department provides IRACH customers with accurate and timely information concerning all Protected Health Information (PHI) to include filing PHI, creating new volumes of records, searching for missing records, scanning all outsourced PHI into the electronic system.  Outpatient Records works hand in hand with our Release of Information department to ensure each person's medical information can be located and produced for patient needs.

We provide assistance / legal advice to Soldiers pending a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) or enrolled in the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES).

The VA Liason for Healthcare is co-located with the MTF to facilitate a smooth transition and coordination of healthcare from the Military treatment Facility to receiving VA Healthcare systems for Active Duty personnel who are preparing to separate from Active duty status.  The VA Liason works primarily with Soldiers assigned to the WTB and/or undergoing a medical evaluation board through the IDES program.  Information and Services are available to ADSM services by IACH.  VHA Pre-separation briefings are held.

The Wounded Warrior Ombudsmen serve as a local resource, facilitator, and problem solver for Service Members and their Families. Ombudsmen are located in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and serve as a liaison between MEDCOM, the Soldier and Family member, the MTF commander, and the Warrior in Transition Unit (WTU) commander. The Ombudsman assists WTU and non-WTU Soldiers and their Families with medical related issues. The Wounded Soldier Family Hotline (WSFH) [(800) 984-8523] serves as a 24/7 resource to any beneficiary seeking assistance with a medical issue/concern including wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, and military caregivers. Privately owned weapons and ammunition must be controlled. The Senior Commander (SC) has clear authority and responsibility to regulate privately owned weapons, explosives, and ammunition on Fort Knox. Personnel who remove privately owned weapons from Fort Knox will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to ownership, possession, and registration. Weapons Registration Office is responsible for ensuring weapons are registered IAW with applicable regulations. Anderson Indoor Aquatics Center is home to an indoor, heated, Olympic-sized pool. The 50-meter pool features a 1-meter diving board and a  50-foot tube water slide. What is the SVC Program? The SVC Program provides a no-cost military attorney to victims of sexual assault who qualify for SVC services. What does a SVC do? A SVC is a licensed attorney who can advise you on a range of legal and economic matters you may have as a victim of sexual assault. An SVC can be your legal guide, so you don't have to walk alone as you meet with investigators, prosecutors, and other people involved in the military justice process. Who qualifies for SVC services? In general, if you are a victim of sexual assault and fit into one of the following categories, you may qualify for SVC services through the Fort Knox Legal Assistance Office: Soldier (no matter whether the offender was a Soldier or not) Family Member of a Soldier (if you have a military ID and the offender was a Soldier) ROTC cadet on contract (if the offender was a Soldier or fellow cadet) Deployed or OCONUS DoD Civilian employee (if the offender was a Soldier) Foreign military personnel (if the offender was a Soldier) If you are a Reserve or National Guard Soldier, you may qualify for services under your component's own SVC Program. If you are an Army Family Member sexually assaulted by a member of another branch of the Armed Forces, you may qualify for SVC services through that other branch (e.g., Navy, Air Force). Do I have to file an unrestricted report to be eligible for SVC services? No! If you qualify for an SVC, you don't have to make an unrestricted (open) report of sexual assault. Your SVC can explain to you the difference between restricted and unrestricted reporting. In fact, you can get the advice of an SVC attorney and then choose not to report at all. It is completely up to you. Will the things I say to a SVC be kept confidential? A SVC is an attorney and is bound by the strictest rules of confidentiality. Whatever you tell your SVC in confidence will be kept in confidence by the SVC, unless and until YOU decide that someone else should know. What if I did something illegal before, during, or after the sexual assault? Victims of sexual assault are people, too. This means that sometimes they mess up and do things that are unethical or illegal. This is called collateral misconduct, which can take the form of underage drinking, drug use, or inappropriate relationships. Some people who have experienced sexual assault feel they don't have a right to report the assault because of their own collateral misconduct, or they may be worried about getting in trouble. A SVC can give you the confidential advice you need to make an informed decision on whether to report. If you have experienced sexual assault, you always have the right to report it, no matter what else you may have been doing at the time. How do I contact a SVC? The Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), Law Enforcement Division (LED) was established in May 2010. The Armed Forces’ Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program is the Armed Forces’ integrated, proactive effort to end the crimes of sexual harassment and sexual assault within our ranks. Sexual harassment and sexual assault have no place in the Armed Forces. If you have been the victim of sexual harassment or sexual assault, you have a voice, you have rights, and we’re here to help. The Armed Forces’ SHARP Program also: Permeates the Armed Forces structure from the Pentagon down to the individual Soldier level. Has full-time military and civilian staff at the brigade level and higher. Promotes cultural change across the Armed Forces, with a vision toward a culture of dignity and respect in which Soldiers, Civilians and Family Members intervene in potential situations that could result in sexual harassment and sexual assault to protect one another. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a tool to communicate the status of local air quality to the public—the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is derived from real-time air pollution measurements taken at monitoring stations throughout the United States. The AQI has three components: a color, a score and a health message recommending protective action based on the level of air pollution.

Residents will be invited to enroll in the registry and initiate an exchange with public health professionals.
