Air Quality Index
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a tool to communicate the status of local air quality to the public—the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is derived from real-time air pollution measurements taken at monitoring stations throughout the United States. The AQI has three components: a color, a score and a health message recommending protective action based on the level of air pollution.

Annual Drinking Water Quality Report
The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual drinking water quality report prepared by an organization that provides drinking water through a community water system. The US EPA requires that water purveyors for community water systems provide a CCR to their customers by July 1st every year. Information contained in the CCR includes the source of drinking water, applicable water quality requirements, and water system monitoring results for the previous year.
Army Community Services
Army Community Service (ACS) assists the community by developing, coordinating and delivering comprehensive services to help promote self-reliance, resilience and stability. ACS offers no-cost classes and trainings that are designed to equip Servicemembers, Family Members, Retirees, and Department of Defense Civilians with the life skills, knowledge and support needed to face the challenges of military life. ACS strives to be “First in Service Member and Family Support!”
Army Education Services
The Army Education Services Division's mission to provide adult continuing education programs and services for the Active and Reserve component personnel on and nearby Fort Meade.Services include educational counseling and academic advising, Army Tuition Assistance to eligible personnel, the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Services testing program, Army personnel tests program, and the multi-use learning facility.
Army Emergency Relief
Provides emergency financial assistance to Soldiers in crisis or emergency situations. Financial assistance is provided for utilities, rent, vehicle repairs etc. and extends to their Family Members, with the Soldier’s consent, and also to Widows and Orphans.

Army Wellness Center
The Army Wellness Center provides a standardized core of health services:a health assessment review which is an analysis of the patient's health status, risk for disease and ability to exercise safely, physical fitness testing and exercise prescription, healthy nutrition using metabolic testing to provide individualized strategies for weight loss, gain or maintenance, stress management using biofeedback to reduce stress, general wellness education through classes on topics such as healthy lifestyles, increased resiliency and self-care, and tobacco education using assessments to determine an individual's readiness to become tobacco-free.
Back Ground Checks
All requests for background checks must be submitted in writing accompanied by a letter of authorization. Three duty days later the checks can be picked up at the Directorate of Emergency Services Administration section.
Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program
The Better Opportunities for Single Service members (BOSS) program represents the voice of the single service member. Civil Liaison AWOL Apprehension
IAW Army Regulation 190-45 commanders are required to notify the Military Police in writing (DA Fm 4187) when a soldier's duty status changes to any of the following: AWOL, Dropped from the Rolls or Returned to Duty

Command Information is the internal dissemination of news and information to better serve the needs and interests of Fort Meade's military. Commissary
The Fort Meade Commissary offers an in-store bakery, deli, seafood, fresh sandwiches, hot foods and an in-store ATM. Patrons purchasing items must show military identification at checkout. The Commissary offers early-bird shopping daily from 7 a.m. until store opening. Purchases are limited to 20 items or less, processed through the self-checkouts
Corvias Leasing Center
Personalized service for family housing residents starts at the Leasing Center. Active Duty Service Members are eligible to apply for on-post housing at Fort Meade upon receipt of current PCS orders.
CPAC Human Resources
The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center services more than 2,000 Department of Army appropriated and non appropriated fund employees. The center has program responsibilities for recruitment, priority placement program, position management and classification, labor and management employee relations, personnel systems management ,and worker's compensation.
CPAC NAF Human Resources
The Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) office at Fort Meade offers services for all personnel. NAF activities provide services to military, their families and civilian patrons through different Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs. The NAF Human Resources Office offers jobs for NAF employment in child development, food and beverage management, bowling, marketing, recreation, pools, as well as clerical and administrative jobs. NAF employment opportunities are advertised on www.USAJobs.gov and are open to eligible and qualified US Citizens and Non-U.S. Citizens. In addition, service members can be employed after military duty hours in flexible or regular part time positions (evenings and weekends) with an approval from their commanding officer. The Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) HR office at Fort Meade offers strategic advisory services to their customers in the areas of recruitment, placement, position management, NAF Benefits, labor/management and employee relations services.

DES Headquarters
The Directorate of Emergency Services supports the Fort Meade community by providing police, physical security, access control, and fire and emergency services to maintain a safe and secure environment on the installation.
Drug Disposal
Most unused and unneeded pharmaceuticals can be disposed in special drop boxes located at the pharmacy. This removes potentially harmful medications from the home and provides environmentally safe disposal. Contact the Pharmacy for any special concerns.
Emergency Chaplain Services
In the event of an emergency situation, if you are unable to reach your Unit Chaplain, call the Military Police or contact the Installation Chaplain’s Office. Ask for assistance from the On-Call Chaplain. An On Call Chaplain will return your call to provide immediate assistance.
Employment Readiness Program
The Employmennt Readiness Program assists those seeking employment by providing information and referral services in the areas of employment, education, training, transition and volunteer opportunities. Assists eligible family members who are relocating as a result of a military or Civilian's sponsors permanent change of station.
EO Office
The U.S. Army will provide EO and fair treatment for military personnel and Family members without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, and provide an environment free of unlawful discrimination and offensive behavior.

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Principal staff advisor to Commanders, managers, supervisors and employees in matters related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO). Conducts statistical analysis of workforce and assists in the development and implementation of action plans for the installation’s affirmative employment program. Receives and processes EEO complaints from employees, applicants for employment, former employees and certain contract workers. Develops training in diversity management, Alternate Dispute Resolution, and Equal Employment Opportunity. Manages the Special Emphasis Program.
Exceptional Family Member Program
Mandatory Department of the Army enrollment for active duty service members who work with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical and personnel services to military services with special needs.
Family Advocacy Program
Provides education and advocacy services designed to enhance family relationships and prevent incidents of child and spouse abuse. The program offers a variety of parenting support programs, including home visitation services for families of young children, educational workshops, support groups and a play group for young children. FAP program and classes include topics such as communication, conflict management, stress management, the dynamics of family violence and parenting. Short-term childcare is available to eligible families who participate in mandated programs.

Family Pet Care Center
The Fort Meade Family Pet Care Center has 11 cat condos and 48 indoor/outdoor dog runs. The indoor runs are climate controlled, the outdoor runs are shaded with insulated roofing, and each has its own self-filling water bowl. There are services for dog washing and professional grooming by appointment only. There is a retail shop with a variety of pet products. Short and long term boarding services are available as well as doggie day care.

Health Promotion

Heritage Park and Normandy Bluffs
Heritage Park is particularly special, as it’s dedicated to the history of Fort George G. Meade. The neighborhood features some of the post’s uniquely beautiful historic homes and cottages, originally built in the 1930s.
HOUSEHOLD GOODS, DIRECTORATE OF LOGISTICS PERSONAL PROPERTY SECTION
All newly assigned personnel arriving to Fort Meade , expecting inbound personal property should immediately contact, either in person or telephonically, the inbound personal property section. Provide them your unit of assignment and a duty phone number, and any other phone numbers where you can be contacted when your personal property arrives. This will help preclude having to place your property in temporary storage if you already have a delivery address. You will be counseled on personal property and household goods entitlements and procedures for military and civilians in connection with assignment, reassignment, or termination of Government-furnished family housing or quarters, to include when no change of station orders are issued. The will execute all necessary actions to complete timely pack-out, pick-up delivery and/ or storage of personal property from origin to destination. Assists service members in processing claims on a reimbursable basis.
Housing Environmental Health Response Registry
The Housing Environmental Health Response Registry is a resource for residents to report housing-related health information and concerns. Residents will be invited to enroll in the registry and initiate an exchange with public health professionals. Registry participants will receive information on in-home environmental health, assistance in seeking medical care, and an opportunity to share concerns with Army leadership.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist
State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. States provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.
Inspector General
On a continuing basis, the Inspector General determines the state of economy, efficiency, discipline, and readiness throughout the command as directed by the commanding general, and provides assistance, on an area basis, to commanders, soldiers, family members, civilian employees, retirees, and others who seek help with problems related to the U. S. Army, so as to facilitate efficiencies and combat readiness.

Legal Assistance
This office provides direct, confidential legal services to clients authorized in Army Regulation 27-3. These services include: advice and assistance on legal separations and other family law matters, will and estate planning, landlord tenant problems, debt disputes, contracts, and other issues, notary services, power-of-attorney, documents, and a wide range of informational materials.

Magistrate Court
This office provides assistance to anyone who receives a ticket while on Fort Meade and must appear before the Magistrate Judge, unless he or she chooses to pay the ticket prior to the hearing date.

We work with external media organizations to "tell Fort Meade's story" through television and radio stations, newspapers and blogs. All media inquiries and concerns about public information should be referred to Media Relations.
Meuse Forest

Provides timely legal advice, service and support to the command and staff of Fort Meade and any tenant-partner unit. It also provides legal services and preliminary legal advice to those in Fort Meade community
OUTBOUND (DEPARTING) PERSONAL PROPERTY INFORMATION
Immediately upon receipt of orders, contact outbound personal property section to make an appointment for briefing. After briefing, normal pick up time is 7 - 10 working days. Outdoor Recreation - Burba Lake Park
Burba Park includes six lakeside locations perfect for family functions or unit/organization picnics. Outdoor pavilion include, tables, benches, grills, horseshoe pits, a softball field and a volleyball court. The cottage location features tables, chairs, and a well-equipped kitchen.

Processes applications for passports and visas for military and civilian personnel at Fort Meade and the surrounding area. The agent will interview applicants to determine types of documents required (applications, naturalization papers, adoption papers, birth certificates, etc.

School Aged Child Care
School Age Care Center provides before school, after school and hourly care for children in first through fifth grades. Children are transported to and from Manor View, Pershing Hill, West Meade and Meade Heights Elementary Schools. School Age Care Center provides full day care on days when the schools are closed and offers a fun and exciting Summer Day Camp from mid June to late August, based on the Anne Arundel County Public Schools calendar.

SFL-TAP Pre-separation Counseling
Upon completion of the Pre-separation Counseling. Soldier will receive Initial Counseling and two copies of DD2648/2648-1 (Pre-separation Counseling Checklist). The DD2648/2648-1 is the prerequisite to all other services.

State Epidemiologist
State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.
State Public Health Laboratory
State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. All state public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.

Traffic Accident Investigation Section
If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, you are required by Law to notify the local Police agency regardless of the severity of damage. If you were operating a military vehicle(tactical or non-tactical) when the accident occurred you are also required to notify the Police Desk, and obtain the information needed to complete a SF 91 (Motor Vehicle Accident Report)
Transition Assistance Program Workshop
This is a mandatory 5 day workshop normally given twice per month. Trained facilitators and instructors provide information about Veteran benefits, Financial Planning, and teach necessary job search skills and facilitate resume writing.

United Service Organization
The United Service Organization (USO) is a private, non-profit organization that supports troops by providing morale, welfard, and recreation-type services to men and women in uniform.
Vehicle Registration
All personnel that live, work, or frequently visit JBM-HH are required under Army Regulation 190-5 to register their vehicles on the installation.
Veterans Administration (VA) Benefits Briefing
You will receive information about the broad range of Veterans Administration (VA) benefits and eligibility. During the brief VA Counselors explain benefits, compensation and pension, healthcare, vocational rehabilitation/ employment, education and training, home loan guarantee, life insurance, survivor and burial. They explain how to apply and help with application.
Veterinary Treatment Facility
Routine veterinary care for pets is available by appointment on an outpatient basis at the Fort Meade Veterinary Treatment Facility.
Visitor Control Center
All visitors should report to the gate at the corner of Reece Road and MD Route 175 in Odenton. All other gates are for DoD identification card holders.
Visual Information Branch
Provides all visual Information products and services that require the submission of a Department of the Army Form 3903. Request forms include services for photography, graphics, multimedia, audiovisual and VI equipment loans.

Weapons Registration
All personnel that reside on JBM-HH are required under Army Regulation 190-11 and JBM-HH Regulation 190-3 to register their privately owned weapons on the installation within 3 days of arrival on post. Personnel that reside off post that intend to transport weapons on the installation will also register them. All personnel residing in the barracks will register and store privately owned weapons in their unit arms rooms

Wounded Warrior Ombudsman Program
The Wounded Warrior Ombudsmen serve as a local resource, facilitator, and problem solver for Service Members and their Families. Ombudsmen are located in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and serve as a liaison between MEDCOM, the Soldier and Family member, the MTF commander, and the Warrior in Transition Unit (WTU) commander. The Ombudsman assists WTU and non-WTU Soldiers and their Families with medical related issues. The Wounded Soldier Family Hotline (WSFH) [(800) 984-8523] serves as a 24/7 resource to any beneficiary seeking assistance with a medical issue/concern including wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, and military Caregivers. Youth Services - Teen Center
The Fort Meade Teen Center opened up in 2006 with the bare minimum and in just a short period have grown to what it is today with the help of the great staff, bright teenagers, and a commitment to excellence. The Teen Center is located at at 3102 MacArthur Road Fort Meade, Maryland 20755, less than 300 feet across from Meade Senior High School. Here at the Teen Center, we encourage high school teenagers to be the best that they can be by challenging themselves in various means.
Youth Services - Youth Center
Youth Services offers a Before and After School Program for middle school age youth. Transportation is provided to and from both middle schools on the installation. The program is staffed with well trained and caring youth professionals serving the after school needs of the youth of our community. The services provided include a safe and supervised setting with freedom for a variety of activity choices. Homework Assistance is available in the combined space of the homework center and computer lab. Educational and recreational software are available for exploration in the computer lab, as well as structured computer and program skill classes.

The Ft. Meade CYS Sports and Fitness program provides a wide range of opportunities for participation in team sports and outdoor activities. The program emphasizes fun, fundamentals, maximum participation and physical conditioning rather than winning or losing.
