A grassroots, Army wide initiative to identify and prioritize issues of concern to America's Army Family. Through this process, issues requiring action are prioritized, given measurable objectives for acceptable change and assigned a lead agency.

Army Family Team Building (AFTB) @ ACS

Offers education to family members on army life and the resources needed to be a successful Army family. The training is offered at graduated levels including classes for the inexperienced family member to those who want to take on leadership roles. The training is offered at various times, locations and days.

Army Volunteer Corps Program (AVCP)

Community Information Services

Your main source for information and outreach on Fort Riley and the Central Flint Hills Region (CFHR). Our staff will provide any information or assistance you may need or will refer you to the appropriate agency for assistance. One stop shop for gathering information or location of resources.

Employment Readiness Program (ERP)/ Army Community Services

Provides employment education, training, transition, and volunteer opportunities to give family members the competitive edge needed to secure employment. Assists with accurate, timely information and other supportive services (Counseling, Resource Center and workshops) necessary to minimize the employment problems associated with relocation.

Family Readiness Group Support (part of ACS)

ACS supports FRGs with training including FRG Leader, Key Caller, Care Team, and more.

Financial Assistance: Army Emergency Relief (AER)

Provides emergency financial assistance to Soldiers for unforeseen emergencies that require immediate attention. AER financial assistance for emergency travel is available during non-duty hours by contacting the American Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337.

Financial Readiness Program (FRP)

Provides personal financial management education and services. Classes are available in banking and credit union services, checkbook management, budget planning and record-keeping, credit use and abuse, debt liquidation, consumer rights and obligations, insurance, savings and investment products (including the Thrift Savings Plan), and personal financial readiness planning for military Families (deployment, PCS, etc). FRP provides individual budget counseling, consumer information and resources, and assistance in filing consumer complaints. Other programs include: Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA) Army Emergency Relief (AER), and Command Financial NCO (CFNCO).

Mobilization and Deployment Program/ ACS Building

The mission is to provide unit leadership with a central key liaison at ACS to facilitate and improve service delivery. Support tools range from Sergeant Riley's puppet show to Redeployment Seminars, ACS Mobilization support assists Soldiers and Families in resiliency and managing the challenges of deployment.

New Parent Support Center (NPSC)

A voluntary program that offers support and assistance to parents of newborns, toddlers and young children (up to age 3) as well as expectant and adopting Families. Parenting support, home visitation, groups, and play morning services are all available at no cost to the service members and their dependents.

Relocation Readiness (RELO)

ACS operates a fully stocked loan closet with basic household items to use until household goods arrive. Comprehensive assistance with PCS moves include: computerized information on installations worldwide, Hearts Apart, Discover Riley's treasures, Guest House visits, sponsorship training, and arrival and departure information. Services are also available for multi cultural programs and assistance with naturalization and immigration.

Soldier Family Assistance Center (SFAC)

Team of civilian employees appointed by the Garrison Commander to coordinate resources and act as a point of contact for Warriors and their Family members. The team is open to assist Soldiers assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB). The center also assists the Family members of those Soldiers assigned to the WTB. Services include clearing house and referrals.

Survivor Outreach Services (SoS)

Provides a comprehensive support program for survivors of Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to ensure continued support is provided as desired by surviving Family Members.

Digital Learning Center

The Fort Riley Distance Learning Facility has six classrooms with 16 computer stations in each classroom. FCC homes offer high quality care provided by a military family member in both on-and off-post homes. FCC providers have extensive training and are regularly monitored and inspected by the FCC director and other CYSS staff. In addition on-post homes are inspected by post fire, safety, and preventive medicine professionals and off-post homes are inspected by off-post licensing agents through their county Health Departments.

The School Age Center (SAC) runs a before and after school program utilizing components of 4H and Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA), providing a safe, inviting, and fun atmosphere which inspires good character, self growth, and a love of learning.

School Liaison Officer

The mission of the School Liaison is to mobilize and use community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile military life style on military school-age children and families; to implement predictable support services that assist school-age children with relocations, life transitions and achieving academic success.

Youth Center

The Fort Riley Youth Center (YC) offers comprehensive programs designed to meet the academic, social, and developmental needs of today’s youth. Transportation to the YC is provided from area schools. The YC has a full court gym used for sports, dances, and instructional programs, a technology lab, art room, a large cafe area for eating, playing board games, pool and air hockey, a music/dance studio, a homework area, and a newly designed high school lounge.

Drug Disposal

Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB)

WTB mission is to establish conditions for healing and promote timely return to the force or transition to a productive veteran within the community.

Wounded Warrior Ombudsman Program

The Wounded Warrior Ombudsmen serve as a local resource, facilitator, and problem solver for Service Members and their Families. Ombudsmen are located in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and serve as a liaison between MEDCOM, the Soldier and Family member, the MTF commander, and the Warrior in Transition Unit (WTU) commander. The Ombudsman assists WTU and non-WTU Soldiers and their Families with medical related issues. The Wounded Soldier Family Hotline (WSFH) [(800) 984-8523] serves as a 24/7 resource to any beneficiary seeking assistance with a medical issue/concern including wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, and military Caregivers. The Cavalry Museum chronicles the colorful history of the American Mounted Horse Soldier from the Revolutionary War to 1950. The museum is housed in the original base hospital that was constructed in 1854. Relics of our military past are on display that includes a WWII M24 tank and a 280mm atomic cannon. These relics are located in Freedom Park just overlooking 1-70 and Marshal Field.

State Environmental Health Laboratory

State Environmental Health Laboratory supports statewide environmental health protection monitoring by performing analyses for chemical, microbiological, and radiological testing, biomonitoring of water, wastewater, air, soil, hazardous wastes, and other environmental concerns. Many state environmental health laboratories are associated with that state’s public health laboratory.

State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory

State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual drinking water quality report prepared by an organization that provides drinking water through a community water system. The US EPA requires that water purveyors for community water systems provide a CCR to their customers by July 1st every year. Information contained in the CCR includes the source of drinking water, applicable water quality requirements, and water system monitoring results for the previous year.

The First Territorial Capitol was in the town of Pawnee in 1855 and was "abandoned" when Fort Riley began to expand. The Capitol served as an Army storehouse, a place for church services, a lodging place, a bachelor's club, and a carpenter shop. There is a nature trail located behind the Capitol.
