American Red Cross

Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual drinking water quality report prepared by an organization that provides drinking water through a community water system. The US EPA requires that water purveyors for community water systems provide a CCR to their customers by July 1st every year. Information contained in the CCR includes the source of drinking water, applicable water quality requirements, and water system monitoring results for the previous year.

Cavalry Museum

The Cavalry Museum chronicles the colorful history of the American Mounted Horse Soldier from the Revolutionary War to 1950. The museum is housed in the original base hospital that was constructed in 1854. Relics of our military past are on display that includes a WWII M24 tank and a 280mm atomic cannon. These relics are located in Freedom Park just overlooking 1-70 and Marshal Field.

FCC homes offer high quality care provided by a military family member in both on-and off-post homes. FCC providers have extensive training and are regularly monitored and inspected by the FCC director and other CYSS staff. In addition on-post homes are inspected by post fire, safety, and preventive medicine professionals and off-post homes are inspected by off-post licensing agents through their county Health Departments.

Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)

DEERS is a database that contains information for each Uniformed Service member, US-sponsored foreign military, DoD and Uniformed Services civilians, other personnel as directed by the DoD (including the patient population serviced through the Military Health Services System), and their eligible family members. DEERS registration is required for TRICARE eligibility and enrollment. Incorrect information in the DEERS database can cause problems with TRICARE claims as well as other health care benefits, so it is critical to maintain your DEERS information.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist

State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. New Parent Support Center (NPSC)

Reserve Component Transition Office

All Soldiers who intend to ETS are required to schedule a transition briefing within 180 days prior to release from active duty. This office provides the mandatory Reserve Component Interview to separating Soldiers.

Garrison Safety Office: Establishes guidelines and procedures to provide you a safe and healthful work and living environment free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm. Our numerous programs and actions include inspections and surveys throughout the installation covering a wide range from industrial operations to Family Child Care Provider home inspections. Some of our work related programs include Hazard communication (HAZCOM), Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, and Radiation Protection. We train Fort Riley personnel in Supervisor/Collateral Duty Safety, safe child care for providers, HAZCOM, Motorcycle Safety, and Accident Reporting procedures.

Soldier Family Assistance Center (SFAC)

State Environmental Health Laboratory

State Environmental Health Laboratory supports statewide environmental health protection monitoring by performing analyses for chemical, microbiological, and radiological testing, biomonitoring of water, wastewater, air, soil, hazardous wastes, and other environmental concerns. Many state environmental health laboratories are associated with that state’s public health laboratory.

State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory

State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. All state public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.

Strength Management

Assignment of inbound officer and enlisted Soldiers: At 90 days prior to arrival, Officer and Enlisted Strength Management will make the tentative pinpoint assignment, task the Major Subordinate Command to provide a sponsor from the unit, and mail the initial welcome letter from Fort Riley that includes tentative pinpoint assignment.

Suicide Prevention Program

The Army Suicide Prevention Program supports the Army's goal to minimize suicidal behavior by reducing the risk of suicide for Active Army and RC Soldiers, Army Civilians, and Family Members. Suicide prevention programs implement control measures to address and minimize risk factors for suicide while strengthening the factors that mitigate those risks.

Women Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC is a supplemental food and nutrition program designed for low income women, infants and children. WIC offices are located in both Geary County (Junction City) and Riley County (Manhattan).

Work Orders or Service orders: Directorate of Public Works

A service order should be submitted when something in your facility is broken or has stopped working and needs repaired. Service orders are called in to the Public Works Service Order Desk. Emergency service orders can be called in by anyone; all other service orders must be submitted by the RandU for the facility.

Workforce Development Office

The DHR directs the activities of sustaining the human dimension needs of Soldiers, retirees, veterans, and their Families. These activities include Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), Central In/Out Processing, casualty affairs, separations, ID card/DEERS services, Soldier For Life - Transition Assistance Program, retirement services, and the full spectrum of military personnel office services; Educational Services for Soldiers and eligible civilians and Family members; the Army Substance Abuse Program; the Administrative Services/Records Management function; as well as the Army Civilian Workforce Development Program.

Wounded Warrior Ombudsman Program

The Wounded Warrior Ombudsmen serve as a local resource, facilitator, and problem solver for Service Members and their Families. Ombudsmen are located in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and serve as a liaison between MEDCOM, the Soldier and Family member, the MTF commander, and the Warrior in Transition Unit (WTU) commander. The Ombudsman assists WTU and non-WTU Soldiers and their Families with medical related issues. The Wounded Soldier Family Hotline (WSFH) [(800) 984-8523] serves as a 24/7 resource to any beneficiary seeking assistance with a medical issue/concern including wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, and military Caregivers. Whether you have questions about the Disability Evaluation System process, the VA Caregiver Program, or benefits, the WSFH and Ombudsmen are standing by to assist. Youth Center

The Fort Riley Youth Center (YC) offers comprehensive programs designed to meet the academic, social, and developmental needs of today’s youth. Transportation to the YC is provided from area schools. The YC has a full court gym used for sports, dances, and instructional programs, a technology lab, art room, a large cafe area for eating, playing board games, pool and air hockey, a music/dance studio, a homework area, and a newly designed high school lounge.
