Alaska 2-1-1

Alaska 211 is a free, confidential, health and human services information and referral system.

Alaska Family Services

Offers help to women and children in crisis and does operate as a domestic violence and sexual assault shelter. Also offers a comprehensive array of services designed to help people overcome a host of challenges, from substance abuse disorders and emotional disturbances, to accessing healthy food and affordable, quality child care, family counseling, parenting workshops, and residential programs for youth at risk.

Anchorage Health Department

Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual drinking water quality report prepared by an organization that provides drinking water through a community water system. The US EPA requires that water purveyors for community water systems provide a CCR to their customers by July 1st every year. Information contained in the CCR includes the source of drinking water, applicable water quality requirements, and water system monitoring results for the previous year.

Arctic Oasis

Community Center has everything you need to keep your family entertained throughout the year! Featuring: Indoor playground (5+ y/o), arcade room, black light mini golf, virtual simulators (archery, golf, ect.) mini bowling, rock wall (40lbs+), and more! Instructional classes in martial arts and music are also available (fees vary). Adults can stay active with exercise equipment which faces the playground, so you can always supervise your children.es vary) Birthday party packages, balloons, and special events may also be arranged at the Arctic Oasis.

Army Emergency Relief (AER)

Army Emergency Relief is a private nonprofit organization. AER's mission is to provide emergency financial assistance for active duty Soldiers; Soldiers retired from active duty; ARNG and USAR Soldiers on active duty for more than 30 days; ARNG and USAR Soldiers who retired at age 60; surviving spouses and orphans of Soldiers who died while on active duty or after they retired and their Family Members

Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital

TRICARE Approved facility. Affliated with the Northstar Behavioral Health Hospital. Offers an intensive dual track treatment program for military service members and veterans who have experienced trauma and/or are in need of detoxification and/or rehabilitation for substance abuse. They also serve active duty adult dependents ages 18 and older who are in need of substance abuse treatment.

Deputy State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Deputy State Epidemiologist assists the state epidemiologist in providing scientific and epidemiological expertise. While not all states have a deputy state epidemiologist, those that do have an additional subject matter expert resource for public health and epidemiology.

DOD Safe Helpline

Sexual assault crisis support. Family Advocacy Program (FAP) - Domestic Victim Advocacy

Provide services to support readiness of Soldiers and their Families to promote self-reliance, resiliency, and stability. They are dedicated to spousal and child abuse prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment. The Family Advocacy Program provides a variety of services to Soldiers and Families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life

Food Bank of Alaska

Free food resource. No Alaskan should go hungry, we need to recover food that would be wasted otherwise, and we share what we have. Housing Environmental Health Response Registry

The Housing Environmental Health Response Registry is a resource for residents to report housing-related health information and concerns. Residents will be invited to enroll in the registry and initiate an exchange with public health professionals. Registry participants will receive information on in-home environmental health, assistance in seeking medical care, and an opportunity to share concerns with Army leadership.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist

State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. States provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.

Local Air Quality Information

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a tool to communicate the status of local air quality to the public—the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is derived from real-time air pollution measurements taken at monitoring stations throughout the United States. The AQI has three components: a color, a score and a health message recommending protective action based on the level of air pollution. The current AQI for air quality around Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson is published daily by the Municipality of Anchorage at the website below.

Telecounseling services for Alaska's rural veterans in the privacy of their own homes. Confidential, on-line counseling to help with past trauma and learn new coping strategies with ALL COSTS COVERED by Rural Veterans Health Access Program. Rural Veterans in Alaska can participate in one or both services below: •Brief 6-8 week biofeedback-assisted counseling to develop skills to manage pain, anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping related to PTSD and other emotional trauma and keep the FREE BIOFEEDBACK UNIT. LEARN MORE •Or talk to a caring, confidential counselor and learn skills to make daily life easier to manage. State Environmental Health Laboratory

State Environmental Health Laboratory supports statewide environmental health protection monitoring by performing analyses for chemical, microbiological, and radiological testing, biomonitoring of water, wastewater, air, soil, hazardous wastes, and other environmental concerns. State environmental health laboratories are associated with that state’s public health laboratory.

State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory

State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. All state public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) provides long-term support to surviving Families of fallen Soldiers. Our goal is to reassure survivors that they remain valued members of the Army Family. The SOS program connects you with people who can help. Our services include grief counseling, financial counseling, benefits coordination, support groups, and garrison and surrounding area events. SOS can help you navigate the details. SOS delivers services at garrisons and communities closest to where Families live. Regardless of your loved one’s component or branch, duty status, location, or manner of death, SOS will provide dedicated outreach and support when and as long as you desire.

Women Infants and Children Program (WIC)

Provides nutrition counseling and program referrals to pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding women, infants and children up to 5 years of age

Wounded Warrior Ombudsman Program

The Wounded Warrior Ombudsmen serve as a local resource, facilitator, and problem solver for Service Members and their Families. Ombudsmen are located in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and serve as a liaison between MEDCOM, the Soldier and Family member, the MTF commander, and the Warrior in Transition Unit (WTU) commander. The Ombudsman assists WTU and non-WTU Soldiers and their Families with medical related issues. The Wounded Soldier Family Hotline (WSFH) [(800) 984-8523] serves as a 24/7 resource to any beneficiary seeking assistance with a medical issue/concern including wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, and military Caregivers. Whether you have questions about the Disability Evaluation System process, the VA Caregiver Program, or benefits, the WSFH and Ombudsmen are standing by to assist.
