The FJ ACS lending closet provides basic household items for temporary loan to Families relocating to and from FJ and in other cases determined appropriate. Army Family Action Plan (AFAP)

Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is an issue resolution process designed to improve military quality of life. The Issue Management System (IMS) located on the Army Family Web Portal (www.armyfamilywebportal.com) allows you to voice your concerns to Army leadership. We reap the benefits of many Army Family Action Plan initiatives without realizing their origin: Service Members Group Life Insurance increase to $400,000, the ability to transfer Government Issue Bill benefits to dependents, Thrift Service Plan for Civilian employees, paternity leave for military fathers, standardized I.D. cards for reservists, and hundreds of others.

Foreign Born Spouse Support Group/ESL Assistance

The Foreign Born Support Group offers a time to meet spouses of different nationalities or from your own country. Learn of the many opportunities available throughout the community. Various activities are planned throughout the year to include; English As a Second Language Sessions, Financial Management Workshops, Arts and Crafts, Stress Management Classes, Citizenship & Immigration Classes, Self Development and Self Motivational Training, and Culture Adaptation Classes.

Hearts Apart (Waiting Families Program)

The group meet throughout the year to allow participants to be able to discuss their feelings and share experiences with others during the separation. Information is provided to update families about what's happening on Fort Jackson and the surrounding community.

Information, Referral and Follow-up Program provides Service Members, Retirees and their Families information regarding military and civilian community resources.

New Parent Support Program

Parenting Education and Support. Provides education and services to enhance parenting and child management skills. Services are divided into two areas; parent education, new parent support mainly through home visitation. Parent Education includes courses designed to help parents learn techniques for effective child management from young children to teenagers. New Parent Support Program provide maternal counseling in areas such as breastfeeding, labor and delivery, newborn care, developmental milestone, age appropriate play, potty training, and behavior management. Each new parent who enrolls in New Parent Support Program Services receives a “Welcome Home Baby Bundle” of gifts for the new mother and baby.

Outreach Program

Family services education, prevention and direct services to those Families who have the greatest level of needs, but are least likely to seek out and take advantage of Army Community Service. Increase community awareness about Army Community Service by taking those services out into the community.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)

Improve services and streamline the assistance process for Survivors, serves as a holistic multi-agency and multi-component strategy to centralize casualty operations and decentralize programs and services. Provides support services for survivors of Soldiers who have fallen in combat as well as support to the survivors of all Soldiers who have passed while on duty.

Victim Advocacy Program

The Victim Advocacy helps empower victims of partner abuse to make decisions that can improve their quality of life. They provide victims with information on their rights, provide emergency shelter, establish safety plans, file for protective orders, assist with child care costs, and accompany victims to court proceedings and/or meetings with lawyers, police, and command. They also make referrals to local resources for a variety of needs.

Risk Reduction Program (RRP)

School Support Services

School Support Services (SSS) provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources and information necessary to achieve academic success. A branch of Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS), SSS is home to the School Liaison Office, where School Liaison Officers (SLOs) help deliver the best educational resources and information for your children. Drug Disposal

Most unused and unneeded pharmaceuticals can be disposed in special drop boxes located inside the outpatient pharmacy near window 7 in the patient seating area. This removes potentially harmful medications from the home and provides environmentally safe disposal. Contact the Pharmacy for any special concerns.

McWethy Troop Medical Clinic

McWethy Troop Medical Clinic provides health care to all initial-entry training Soldiers, Soldiers on temporary duty status, Reserve component Soldiers on drill or annual training status, and any Soldier in student status assigned or attached to Fort Jackson. The clinic also provides well-woman exams and pap screenings for advanced individual training female Soldiers.

Moncrief Pharmacy

The Main Outpatient Pharmacy is located on the Ground Floor of the Hospital. All patients utilizing this service must activate prescriptions prior to arrival via QR Code or Phone Tree. You will receive a pharmacy text or phone call when your prescriptions are ready. As of 01 June 2021 hard copy prescriptions will no longer be accepted except for controlled substance prescriptions. All outside providers must electronically send over prescriptions. This location is for new prescriptions only.

Fort Jackson Golf Club

The Fort Jackson Golf Club is considered by many as the finest golf operation the military has to offer. The facilities feature two well-maintained championship courses, state-of-the-art practice facilities, an attractive 10,000 square foot clubhouse, a well stocked pro shop, snack bar and lounge. Over 72,000 rounds of golf are played each year over the two courses. FJGC opened in 1949, with the original 18 hole course designed by George Cobb. In 1991, Arthur L. Davis added 20 new holes to 16 of the original holes to make up the current 36-hole complex.

Mobilization and Deployment

Prepares Soldiers and Family members to cope with separations caused by deployments, extended trainings, remote assignments, repatriation and natural disasters. Assistance and education in establishing Soldier Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs), linking Soldiers and Family members to military and community services and resources. Liaison between Family members and commanders concerning problems situations, training classes, coordination with National Guard and Reserve to provide appropriate services.

Outdoor Recreation Programs/Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) Programs

ODR Programs: Looking to learn a new outdoor skill or go on a trip? We offer a little something for everyone at Outdoor Recreation! We do trips and events for camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and cultural and city day tours. WAQ Programs: Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) is an Army RESET training tool designed to introduce Soldiers to activities that serve as alternatives to aberrant behaviors often associated with accidents involving recently re-deployed Soldiers. WAQ combines existing MWR Outdoor Recreation high adventure activities (e.g. rock climbing, mountain biking, paintball, scuba, ropes courses, skiing, zip lines, white water rafting, and others) with a leader-led after action debriefing (L-LAAD) tool developed by Army Medical Department (AMEDD) center and school.

Palmetto Falls Water Park

Features of the Water Park include: a 10,000 sq. ft. Family Pool, two water slides, a 600 sq. ft. splashdown pool, a 2,500 sq. ft. kiddy pool, a lazy river stretching 800 linear feet, and a snack bar.

Palmetto Greens Miniature Golf

Miniature golf has been a favorite game around the world for many decades. The predominant impression of most people today is that miniature golf is a game of windmills and obstacles. In reality, miniature golf has evolved, and is now played as a sport on “golf in miniature” facilities. Today’s modern course features miniature replicas of regulation golf’s “Famous Holes” complete with undulations, contours, moguls, water, sand and vegetation traps on the greens. Thus miniature golf now offers the player many of the challenges of real golf. Surrounded by a lush, botanical garden setting with meandering streams and waterfalls, beautiful fountain displays, and realistic rock sculpturing. These newer courses provide a park-like setting for the whole family.

Perez Fitness Center

Perez Fitness Center has 20,500 sq. ft. of work out space. The facility offers Hoist and Hammer Strength weight equipment. Perez Fitness Center also offers a large free weight area that has benches, Smith cable machines, dumbbells, squat racks and more. The Cardiovascular room has treadmills, elliptical cross training machines, exercise bikes, recumbent bikes, stair-master machines and cardio theatre. In addition, Perez Fitness Center offers 2 racquetball courts, saunas and male and female locker rooms.

Relocation Readiness Program

Provides a variety of services to assist active duty and retired military, their Identification card family members and Department of the Army Civilian employees reduce or eliminate the problems associated with frequent moves. In addition, relocation counseling, guidance and planning services are provided to assist with the move.

Solomon Center

The Solomon Center opened in 1997. It is a one of a kind facility located on Strom Thurmond Boulevard. The Solomon Center is home to The Retail Zone, and Jack's Frame Shop. The Special Events Area boasts a spacious 2,800 person seating capacity where ceremonies, concerts, sporting events and special events such as the Army Soldier Show are held. Other events include Community Awareness Day, Retiree Appreciation Day, Basic Training Graduation Family Days, wedding receptions and Ethnic functions. The Special Events Area can also be divided into smaller conference and meeting areas which are available for private and command functions. New Pool Room and Video Gaming Lounge

Videorama is a ful service video production facility with state of the art equipment. Videorama produces Basic Combat Training videos specific to each company along with each Graduation Ceremony. Videorama had the capability to Livesteam events by request.

Weston Lake Recreation Area

Weston Lake is where you find our beautiful capground, beach and cabins. You can relax on our sandy beach or rent a pedal boat or kayak to cruise around the lake. Rent one of our 8 cabins that are situated with a lake view. There are also 33 full hook RV campsites along with 4 powered tent sites. We also have 6 cottagesavailable to rent at Legion Landing by the golf course.

Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) (Adult)

Provide low profile problem-solving support and education to Service Members and their families. Can help with: stress related to training cycle, job stress, marriage and relationship issues, single parenting challenges, parenting skills, communication skills, cultural adjustment and combat stress. This service is confidential and private, free and flexible to the schedule of the soldier. Individual and couples sessions, groups and trainings available.

Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) (Child and Youth)

Non-medical counseling support, coaching, education and solution-focused consultations to Service members and their Families, children, and staff of Child, Youth, and School Services. Direct interventions in classroom, camp or Family Child Care (FCC) settings. Modeling behavioral management techniques and provide feedback to staff. Behavioral interventions to enhance coping and behavioral skills. Outreach to parents. Facilitation of psycho-educational groups at Child and Youth Programs. Trainings for staff and parents. Referrals to military social services and other resources as needed.

Museum

Adjutant General Museum

The museum is dedicated to the history of the Army's Adjutant General's Corps from 1775 to present. Historical documents, photos, uniforms and equipment depict the diverse history of the Corps.

Chaplain Museum

The Chaplain Corps Museum displays the history of the Army Chaplain Corps from 1775 through present. It chronicles the men and women who have aided and served the Army both spiritually and militarily.

Finance Corps Museum

The Finance Corps Museum collects historical artifacts documenting the history of the Finance Corps from its birth in 1775 to present. The museum preserves branch-related historical memorabilia and creates interpretive exhibits/displays representing Finance Corps history.

U.S. Army Basic Combat Training Museum

The U.S. Army Basic Combat Training Museum was established in 1972 with an initial collection of only 20 artifacts. Since opening to the public in July 1974, the collection has grown to more than 4,500 pieces of historical objects. The museum exhibits an assortment of military weapons, uniforms and other equipment to illustrate how the American Soldiers trained to perform their duties in peacetime and war.

Air Quality Index

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a tool to communicate the status of local air quality to the public—the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is derived from real-time air pollution measurements taken at monitoring stations throughout the United States. The AQI has three components: a color, a score and a health message recommending protective action based on the level of air pollution.

Housing Environmental Health Response Registry

The Housing Environmental Health Response Registry is a resource for residents to report housing-related health information and concerns. Residents will be invited to enroll in the registry and initiate an exchange with public health professionals. Registry participants will receive information on in-home environmental health, assistance in seeking medical care, and an opportunity to share concerns with Army leadership.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist

State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. States provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.

Designed to help empower military caregivers with information about national-level resources and programs specifically for them. Topics include: helplines, advocacy and benefit information, career transitions and employment, military caregiver support, children’s needs, education and training, financial support, rest and relaxation, and others.

Military Caregiver Virtual Peer Forum

Military caregivers may join their peers virtually in a Department of Defense online forum every month to discuss topics that they choose and network with others who are experiencing similar challenges. Caregivers learn skills to overcome challenges and share resources.

National Resource Directory

The National Resource Directory is one of the largest online collections of government and non-government resources specifically designed for Veterans, service members, their families and caregivers. With a unique collection of more than 16,000 organized and vetted resources, the directory provides information covering a variety of topics, including benefits and compensation, education, homeless assistance, housing and other services.

Services include family planning, health promotion, immunizations and vaccines, community resources, maternal/child and school health, public health, WIC.

State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory

State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. All state public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.

Ready and Resilient Performance Center (R2)

Ready and Resilient Performance Center (R2) Fort Jackson Training Center provides a variety of services to the Fort Jackson Community. Emphasis is placed on teaching thinking skills for Performance and Resilience to engage and empower Leaders. The Training Center also provides Performance and Resilience Training for DA Civilians and Family Members through classes scheduled monthly. The Training Center has a highly qualified staff ready to implement a tailored program in order to achieve and sustain personal readiness and resilience. Performance Training enhances mental agility and adaptability throughout one's life, leading to optimal performance and personal readiness. R2 Training Centers provide performance skills that include instruction in mental skills foundations, confidence building, effective goal setting, attention control, energy management and imagery. Academic Performance Training (APT) includes skills that help optimize classroom performance and maximize academic results. The R2 Training Center customized training options include planning and prioritizing time, the Study Power Hour, memory and recall improvement, effective note taking, reading efficiency, effective study partnerships, and combating test anxiety.

Logistics Readiness Center (LRC)

The Logistics Readiness Center provides Garrison logistical programs and services that enable activity and tenant readiness. These include: receiving, storing, issuing, and managing retail supplies; providing Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE); managing Clothing Initial Issue Point (CIIP); providing field (tactical) and selected national (sustainment) maintenance services; providing transportation management services; managing hazardous materials; providing installation dining facility services; and providing installation-level planning for mission, training, deployment, and mobilization support. Plans, Analysis and Integration Office (PAIO)

The Plans, Analysis and Integration Office performs three key functions in support of the garrison commander and mission accomplishment: planning, analysis, and integration. These three functions focus primarily on the garrison's business operations, including change management and cost management, in order to enable mission accomplishment.
