The Army Community Service (ACS) Volunteer Program offers valuable opportunities to gain experience and directly impact change within Army Community Service programs. The Defense Commissary Agency, which is headquartered at Fort Lee, VA., operates a worldwide chain of commissaries providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families in a safe and secure shopping environment. Authorized patrons purchase items at cost plus a 5-percent surcharge, which covers the costs of building new commissaries and modernizing existing ones. Shoppers save an average of more than 30 percent on their purchases compared to commercial prices – savings that amount to thousands of dollars annually when shopping regularly at a commissary. A core military family support element, and a valued part of military pay and benefits, commissaries contribute to family readiness, enhance the quality of life for America's military and their families, and help recruit and retain the best and brightest men and women to serve their country.

Military and Family Life Counseling Program (MFLC)

Military and Family Life Counselors

Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) assist service members and their Families with circumstances occurring across the military life cycle and aims to enhance operational and Family readiness. They provide support to individuals, couples, Families and groups for a range of issues including, but not limited to: deployment stress, reintegration, relocation adjustment, separation, anger management, conflict resolution, parenting, parent/child communication, relationship/family issues, coping skills, homesickness, and grief and loss. All MFLCs, provide confidential non-medical counseling services face-to-face, on and off of military installations. All MFLCs have a master's degree or doctorate in a mental health- related field, such as social work, psychology, marriage and Family therapy or counseling, and possess a valid unrestricted counseling license or certification from a state, the District of Columbia, a U.S. commonwealth, or a U.S. territory that grants authority to provide

The Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) is a one-stop location built to equip and aid Wounded, Ill, and Injured Soldiers who are assigned or attached to Warrior Transition Units. SFAC services help these Soldiers make life-changing decisions as they transition back to duty or on to civilian life. We strive to deliver tailored, compassionate, and coordinated transitional services designed to promote self-reliance, wellness, and healing during their medical recuperation and transition. Soldier for Life- Transition Assistance Program

Established, at Fort Bragg in 1991, the Soldier For Life: Transition Assistance Program (Soldier For Life: TAP) is an integral part of the Army personnel lifecycle. The Soldier For Life: TAP provides comprehensive transition services to separating and retiring Soldiers, their Family members, and Department of the Army (DA) Civilians. The Soldier For Life: TAP counselors deliver the congressionally mandated pre-separation counseling, provide job search training, assist in the use of automated employment tools, conduct one-on-one employment counseling, and facilitate employment workshops/seminars.
