Community and Outpatient Nutrition Clinic
Group classes are offered for the following conditions: prediabetes, newly diagnosed diabetes, gestational diabetes, bariatric surgery and weight loss (for both Active Duty Service and Family Members). A follow-up, individual appointment with a Registered Dietitian is available after attending the above classes. Patients with other diet-related conditions, such as heart healthy (high blood pressure or cholesterol monitoring) diet therapy, sports or performance nutrition counseling, gastrointestinal support for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome or disease or fatty liver or management of dietary allergies, may schedule an individual appointment with a Registered Dietitian.
Military Family Readiness Center (formally Army Community Services)
Linking service members and their families with the right resources to meet their specific needs on JBSA or within the local community. We offer a variety of trainings, workshops, and one-on-one consultations to supports individuals, families, and leadership with programs that strengthen our communities, encourage self-sufficiency, enhance mission readiness and resiliency, and ease adaptation to the military way of life.

Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Aquatic Center
The Aquatic Center offers an inexpensive refreshing splash of summer fun. The Aquatics Team offers private and group swimming lessons; youth swim lessons, and life guarding classes. The pool also hosts special events like triathlon, dive-in movies and a dog day at the pool. The pool can be reserved for private parties and unit trainings.
Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP)
ACAP provides mandatory pre-separation counseling, assists in completing pre-separation counseling checklist, and provide one on one transition and employment counseling.
Army Commanders’ Risk Reduction Toolkit (CRRT)
 Commander’s Risk Reduction Toolkit (CRRT) II training is being conducted virtually. The CRRT provides commanders real-time insight into their Soldiers’ individual readiness levels using personnel data covering over 40 factors potentially facilitating high-risk events which may negatively impact overall mission readiness.
Army Continuing Education System
JBSA - Fort Sam Houston Education Center provides counseling services on military academic planning, community colleges, tuition assistance, GI Bill, commissioning programs, certifications, military correspondence courses, vocational training, veteran's educational benefits, testing and professional military education, and foreign languages.
Army Emergency Relief (AER) Program
AER is the Army's own emergency financial assistance organization and is dedicated to "Helping the Army To Take Care of Its Own." AER provides commanders with a valuable asset in accomplishing their base command responsibility for the morale and welfare of soldiers. AER helps Soldiers and their dependents, by providing emergency aid, in the form of either a direct grant (a cash gift, not to be repaid) or an interest-free loan, and by giving college scholarships to children of Soldiers.

Army Substance Abuse Program
ASAP is responsible for providing guidance and leadership on all non-clinical alcohol and other drug policy issues; developing, establishing, administering, and evaluating non-clinical alcohol and other drug (AOD) abuse prevention, education, and training programs; overseeing the Military, Drug Free Workplace and Department of Transportation biochemical (drug) testing programs. Provide Soldiers, Commanders, ASAP personnel, Unit Prevention Leaders (UPL) and all other members of the Army community with information on our Biochemical (drug) Testing Programs, Risk Reduction Program (RRP), Soldier Assistance Program (SAP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), alcohol and drug abuse prevention training materials.

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS)
Enhance the morale and welfare of single Soldiers, increase retention and sustain combat readiness. BOSS is the collective voice of single Soldiers through the chain of command, which serves as a tool for commanders to gauge the morale of single Soldiers regarding quality of life issues. Additionally, BOSS also sponsors a variety of activities before, during and after deployment to maintain the morale of single Soldiers affected by increased operational tempo and deployment stress.

Camp Bullis Rod-n-Gun Recreation Center
Open to DOD Cardholders to fire their personally-owned firearms (pistols, rifles and shotguns 7.62 caliber or less). Targets range from 7-25 yards for pistols and 25-125 yards for rifles, no super magnums. All firearms must be registered at the Recreation Center. The range may close unexpectedly due to weather or unit practice. Range users should call before coming out for target practice. DOD ID cardholders can sponsor up to 2 non-DOD guests.
Casualty Notification Office
Primary mission is to alleviate grief's impact and to provide excellent expedient recovery support to the primary next of kin (PNOK) and other identified family members of the critically injured or deceased active duty Army Soldiers, Retirees, or non-retired Veterans by providing high quality, quick and responsive, professional service with the assigned CAC Region.

Child Care
There are two-day care centers on Fort Sam Houston and both offer hourly care, full-time care, a preschool program and before/after school care for children between six weeks and five years of age. Family Child Care (FCC) offers age-appropriate care for children 4 weeks through 12 years of age in approved homes.
Child Development Center
Offers a developmental program for children between six weeks and five years of age. The center provides meals and snacks. The CDC is accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and certified by the Department of Defense (DOD). The CDC offers a seamless childcare and youth delivery system. CPT Jennifer M. Moreno Primary Care Clinic
The CPT Jennifer M. Moreno Primary Care Clinic provides accessible, high quality, cost-effective and customer focused interdisciplinary health care for active duty, adult and pediatric TRICARE Prime and TRICARE PLUS enrollees, Warrior in Transition and other beneficiaries. The scope of comprehensive services includes readiness care, chronic and acute illness care, preventive health maintenance, health promotion and wellness, education and counseling, and specialty consultation and referral.

Drug Disposal
Most unused and unneeded pharmaceuticals can be disposed in special drop boxes located at the pharmacy. This removes potentially harmful medications from the home and provides environmentally safe disposal. Contact the Pharmacy for any special concerns.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)
EFMP is a mandatory enrollment program that works with military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to active duty personnel and their family members.
Family Advocacy Program
Helps active duty members and their dependents build healthy and resilient families by addressing challenges that contribute to abusive/neglectful relationships. The program’s mission is for prevention of family maltreatment and provides individual and marital therapy, seminars, and educational groups focused on couples communication, parenting, stress, anger management, etc. The program also provides home-based therapy and nursing services to families with children ages 0-3 in order to accommodate the unique challenges of families with young children.
Family Child Care (FCC)
Family Child Care (FCC) offers age appropriate care for children 2 weeks through 12 years of age in approved homes. The care offered by military sponsored Family Child Care providers are based on current knowledge of child development and early childhood education.
Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leader and Liaison Training
FRG’s provide support to enhance the flow of information, increase resiliency of a soldier and their family, providing practical tools for pre/post deployments and separation, enhance the well-being and esprit de corps within the unit.
Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP)
FVAP provides the miiltary community with voting assistance and to answer voting questions.
Fort Sam Houston Akeroyd Blood Donor Center
The Akeroyd Blood Donor Center collects whole blood and platelet apheresis donations (by appointment). Your donation helps to ensure the high quality care of our service members, retirees and family members worldwide. The Army Blood Program, a service component of the tri-service Armed Services Blood Program, is currently involved in an initiative to collect licensed fresh plasma from volunteer donors. The donations will be converted into freeze-dried plasma, a new product that may significantly increase the survival rates for service members wounded on the battlefield.

The JBSA-FSH Youth Programs offers recreation and educational programs for youth in grades 6th-12th. Infectious Disease Epidemiologist
State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. States provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.
JBSA - Legal Assistance

Jimmy Brought Fitness Center (MWR)
The Jimmy Brought Fitness Center has a main workout area for cardio and aerobics, weight lifting and leisure sports with a basketball court and racquetball courts. METC Fitness Center (MWR)
The METC Fitness and Sports Center offers a variety of strength equipment and cardio machines. These include squat racks, free weights, selectorized strength equipment, treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair climbers, Jacob’s Ladders, and much more. Upstairs, we have a 200m (1/8 mile) indoor track with three lanes in case the Texas heat is too much. We have two basketball courts with newly finished wooden floors. We also have a covered outdoor BeaverFit Gym Box, complete with squat racks and all of the functional fitness equipment you’ll need to have a great workout.

The National Resource Directory is one of the largest online collections of government and non-government resources specifically designed for Veterans, service members, their families and caregivers. With a unique collection of more than 16,000 organized and vetted resources, the directory provides information covering a variety of topics, including benefits and compensation, education, homeless assistance, housing and other services.
Personal Financial Counseling (PFC)
Personal Financial Counselors provide financial education and counseling services. Education and counseling provided on numerous personal financial topics from basic budgeting, credit and debt management, consumer awareness, and achieving financial goals for retirement, education, and more. Also, provided are Information and Referral services for local, state, and federal programs such as emergency financial assistance.
R2 Performance Center (Ready and Resilient)
The Ready and Resilient Performance (R2) program have been tasked with ensuring our service members, their families, and Army civilians have the training and knowledge to improve their psychological health and resiliency. The Fort Sam Houston R2 Training Center is accomplishing this by certifying service members and civilians as Master Resiliency Trainers (MRT). Commanders will use the MRT’s to make sure Soldiers and their families have the knowledge and resiliency to bounce back from adversity.

School Age Services (SAS)
The SAS Program is accredited by the National After School Association and certified by Department of Defense an offers a Before and After School Program, Open Recreation Program, Reserve Hourly Care, Seasonal Camps (Spring, Fall, Winter, and Summer) and Teacher In-Service Camps for children in first through sixth grades. The Before School Program operates Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. until school begins on Fort Sam Houston Elementary School regular school days. The After School Program begins at the release from school and until 6 p.m. daily. All children using the School-Age Services Program must be registered with Child and Youth Services Central Registration.

State Environmental Health Laboratory
State Environmental Health Laboratory supports statewide environmental health protection monitoring by performing analyses for chemical, microbiological, and radiological testing, biomonitoring of water, wastewater, air, soil, hazardous wastes, and other environmental concerns. State environmental health laboratories are associated with that state’s public health laboratory.
State Epidemiologist
State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 1-800-662-HELP (4357)
Confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.
Suicide Intervention and Prevention Training
Suicide Prevention Program provides training on what to do in the event someone encounters a person contemplating suicide and what to do. ACE-SI, ASIST.
Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)
The SOS Program serves as the advocate for the Survivor.  The SOS Program provides support, information, and services closest to where the Family resides.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP)
Information, tools, and training to ensure Service members and their spouses are prepared to leave federal service. Whether pursuing additional education, finding a job in the civilian workforce, or starting their own business, TAP offers separating service members and their spouse’s accessible resources and information to make their transitions more successful.
Truth Initiative (Nicotine Resource)
Truth Initiative is America’s largest nonprofit public health organization dedicated to a future where tobacco and nicotine addiction are things of the past.
Unit Level MFLC/ACS Provided
Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLC) are licensed professionals who provide situational, problem-solving counseling anonymously and confidentially. Limited written records are kept, and it is free to military and their family members.
Veteran's Crisis Hotline
Restricted and Unrestricted assistance for adult victims of domestic violence or intimate partner sexual assault.
VFW -Unmet Needs Financial Grants
Unmet Needs is there to help America's military families who have run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other military-related activity or injury. The program provides financial aid grants of up to $1,500 to assist with basic life needs in the form of a grant - not a loan - so no repayment is required. To further ease the burden, we pay the creditor directly.

Warrior and Family Support Center
The Warrior and Family Support Center (WFSC) provides coordinated services and support to all wounded, injured, or ill active duty service members that are receiving medical treatment within the JBSA, Texas area. Including their next-of-kin/extended family members, and the Gold Star (SOS) Families.
