Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private, non-profit organization established to assist Soldiers and their Family members in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant, or combination of the two. Loans are repaid by an allotment. To apply for AER assistance, the Soldier should be seen by the Unit Commander/1SG for interview/counseling to determine if the situation can be resolved through the chain-of-command or some other source. After determining that the Soldier has a valid emergency, the unit commander would then authorize the individual to seek AER assistance.

The Financial Readiness Program is your resource for information on money matters. The WIC Overseas Program is designed to supplement the food you regularly buy with additional nutritional food items. WIC Overseas Program staff will provide ideas for meal planning, food preparation, and recipes that are nutritious, delicious, and easy to prepare. Your counselor will give you an approved food list and redeemable food checks called "drafts," which you exchange for specific foods and quantities in overseas commissaries and NEXMARTs (drafts are accepted only at these overseas stores). In addition to providing nutritious food and healthy meal planning, the WIC Overseas Program offers a nutritional screening for you and your children. This screening may help identify medical conditions early so that you can seek proper medical advice.

ASAP offers multiple opportunities throughout the year that meet SMs and Civilian Workforce annual training requirements. Trainings can be tailored to active duty, civilian or blended audience and can be scheduled upon request. Trainings are available virtually and in-class at the ASAP training room on Panzer Kaserne, or at your work site. Universal Training: Designed to reach the entire population, without regard to individual risk factors; intended to reach a very large audience. Selective Training: Targeted subgroups of the general population that are determined to be at higher risk for substance abuse. Indicated Training: Geared towards individuals who are experiencing early signs of substance abuse and other related problem behaviors associated with substance abuse using program such as Prime for Life. Prime for Life is an evidence-based education program with demonstrated success in altering attitudes and reducing high risk choices.

Military drug testing is a commander’s program. ASAP assists commanders in assessing the security, military and civilian fitness, and discipline of units through the use of forensic drug testing. ASAP’s Drug Testing Coordinator (DTC) administers testing and provides information to commanders about smart testing, and current drug trends. Commanders are directed to conduct monthly testing of 10% percent of unit strength. The DTC also conducts and supports the Drug-Free Federal Workplace testing program.

The EAP provides free, confidential short term services, referrals and assessments for the DoD civilians GS/ NA, contractors, Family Members above 18 years of age, and retirees. Services: The Army's Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care (SUDCC) program uses a multidisciplinary approach to treat and provide patients the resources and support they need to overcome the challenges of illicit drug use, prescription medicine and alcohol abuse or dependence. Access to care: The primary mission of the Stuttgart SUDCC clinic is to treat Active Duty military members. At times access to care is also available for Retirees, Military Family Members, GS Civilians and Contractors on a space available basis. Decisions about opening access to the clinic for non-Active Duty patients are based on the clinic’s ability to meet the MEDCOM access to care standards of 7 days for any new intake as well as regular follow up appointments. The inability to meet the access to care standard means that we may be unable to take care of non-Active Duty patients. However, if the standard can be met our next priority are Active Duty Retirees and their family members, then DA Civilians and Contractors, as space permits. School Support Services provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources and information necessary to achieve academic success. The Youth Centers have a wide range of programs for youth in grades 6-12, offering fun-filled afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Free Middle School Teen (MST) programs are offered daily after school and in the afternoons during the summer. MST morning camps are also offered at a nominal fee during the summer to complement the free afternoon program. There are special activities for youth scheduled on a continual basis, including social activities and field trips. CYS programs utilize partnerships with 4-H Clubs, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Character Counts to bring enhanced curriculum and other opportunities for growth and development to our children and youth. The Physical Therapy Department provides post-op and outpatient services to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. All appointments must be referred. We expertly treat all sport, joint, muscle, and ligament injuries.

Army Wellness Centers (AWC) provide standardized primary prevention programs and services designed to build and sustain good health and improve the overall healthy lifestyles of soldiers, reservists, retirees, civilians, and their family members. There are 35 Army Wellness Center Locations at garrisons around the world from Japan to Germany, so your test results follow you wherever you go to ensure continuity of care and to stay on track of your goals. The Army Wellness Center provides body composition, metabolic, and VO2 submaximal testing with accompanying fitness test, biofeedback sessions, sleep, stress, tobacco, and general nutrition education, individual and group health coaching, and unit testing/education. All appointments include examination of current health habits, analysis of risk factors, exploration of personal health/wellness goals, and an assessment of obstacles that may get in the way of consistent health habits. The Nutrition Care Services office of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria strives to provide Service Member support and patient care through nutrition expertise utilizing the full spectrum of nutrition science to optimize individual health, physical performance, and a nutritional education and awareness that shapes eating habits for a lifetime. A Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist provides Medical Nutrition Therapy for prevention and management of diverse acute and chronic medical conditions to include: - Metabolic Disorders - Diabetes - Hypertension - Hypercholesterolemia - Kidney/Liver Disease - GI Disorders - Pre/Post Bariatric Surgery - Pregnancy - Food allergies / Intolerances - Eating Disorders - Weight Management (Overweight/Underweight) for adult and pediatric populations. Pregnancy test are done on a walk-in basis. If you are pregnant (confirmed by a lab test in the clinic), the clinic staff will schedule an OB orientation class with our Wellness Center. OB Orientation is held at the Wellness Center on Patch Barracks.

Our mission is to deliver comprehensive occupational health services to the US Army Europe (USAREUR) in order to reduce the risk of work-related illness and injury and to enhance readiness through human resources conservation. Offices are located at US Army Garrisons in USAREUR to establish and coordinate occupational health services for all workers in the PHCR-Europe service area in accordance with standards set by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, Department of Defense and Army Regulations, and Host Nation laws.

Patient liaisons are available to help patients in emergency and inpatient situations. They can assist with verbal translations and will visit patients each day they’re in the hospital. Patient liaisons are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In emergency situations, it's especially important to call so they can report to the clinic and potentially the chain of command that you’re being treated in a Host Nation hospital.

The intent of Army Pregnancy Postpartum Physical Training (P3T) is to implement mandatory standardized Army-wide P3T. Moving with a special needs child can be smoother with some planning and communication. It is recommended that families with special needs children plan sufficiently prior to a PCS to ensure that all required services are available, prepared and in place prior to arrival at new duty station. It is very important that you hand-carry copies of any special education paperwork such as Individualized Education Program (IEP), evaluations, 504 plans, etc. IEPs should be current and not expired. Official special education records are transferred from school to school. However, parents should have copies of all significant special education records for their child. It is crucial that you hand carry special education records to the receiving school. Some parents withhold special education records because they are afraid of a perceived stigma associated with the term “Special Needs”. This places school personnel and your special needs student at a disadvantage when planning an appropriate educational program. Everyone’s goal is to create a successful learning environment for all students. Your child’s current up-to-date IEP will be honored at the new school upon arrival. After observation of your child the school may recommend to re-evaluate your child or renew the current IEP. If you have a child that is younger than the required age of school attendance and is at least 3 years old, he/she may still be eligible for services through the school district. The Babysitting Basics course from the American Red Cross gives those ages 11 and older a foundation on which to build their babysitting business. Designed for new babysitters, this course delivers information clearly, concisely and interactively – and it's the perfect way for young people to learn about all of the responsibilities that come with the job. A sponsor is assigned by a newcomer's gaining unit or DOD civilian agency and helps the newcomer before, during and after a move. They can provide information for installation resources. If you haven't been assigned a sponsor, you can request a sponsor through your new unit, agency, or see below "Request a Sponsor". Sponsors are assigned that have similar rank, family status and job duties. We also recognize that incoming Service Members and Civilian employees aren’t the only ones affected by a move, so spouses can also receive training to become sponsors. Overall, the Sponsorship Program aims to do the following: - Provide newcomers with a sense of belonging - Ease the transition for inbound service members or civilians and their family members - Increase productivity of Service Members and loved ones - Help newcomers make informed decisions - Cultivate new friendships - Improve morale

Stuttgart Sports & Fitness has a well-balanced program for the community with community and intramural level individual and team sports as well as a wide variety of fitness classes. For those who would like a more personalized fitness plan, we have several certified personal trainers who can help start you on the road to a healthier and fitter lifestyle. And to help you recover from your fitness and sports activities, we have a group of certified massage therapists ready to fully rejuvenate you. Our Sports & Fitness Centers include: Basketball courts Weight rooms Lockers Saunas Cardio rooms Family Fitness room (Patch, Panzer and Kelley) Functional Fitness Rooms (Patch and Panzer) Sports & Fitness Center use is free and open to all eligible Family and MWR authorized users, including retirees and Family members.

Stuttgart Sports & Fitness has a well-balanced program for the community with community and intramural level individual and team sports as well as a wide variety of fitness classes.

The Youth Centers have a wide range of programs for youth in grades 6-12, offering fun-filled afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Free Middle School Teen (MST) programs are offered daily after school and in the afternoons during the summer. MST morning camps are also offered at a nominal fee during the summer to complement the free afternoon program. There are special activities for youth scheduled on a continual basis, including social activities and field trips. CYS programs utilize partnerships with 4-H Clubs, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Character Counts to bring enhanced curriculum and other opportunities for growth and development to our children and youth. Programs are intended to offer positive alternatives that will minimize "at risk" behavior during parental duty hours.

Sports and Fitness Programs provide team sports, individual sports, fitness and health programs and, programming at Child Development Centers, School Age and Youth Programs. Pre-registration is required for Sports and Fitness Programs. Children and youth that are currently registered in CYS can be enrolled in Sports and Fitness using WebTrac. The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) has a website for evaluation of coaches. Parents have the opportunity to evaluate coaches on the NAYS website. Parents must have the coach member number to rate their coach. You can get this number from the CYS Sports and Fitness office.

Designed to make sure Families have information you need and develop a military support group while your Soldier is deployed. Virtual Family Readiness Groups also provide secure environments in which the commander can communicate directly with Soldiers and Families 24 hours a day no matter where you are.

Information in the Registry will enable MEDCOM to provide you additional information on housing environmental health hazards, assist you in seeking medical care for any housing-related illnesses or concerns, and allow MEDCOM to share your concerns about housing environmental health hazards with Army leadership. The NRD is hosted, managed, maintained, sustained and developed by the Defense Health Agency's Recovery Coordination Program. It provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration. The Stuttgart Transition Assistance Program's mission is to provide congressionally mandated pre-separation counseling, transition and employment assistance services to all Military Service Members and selected Department of Defense civilians who are considering or preparing to depart the military. These services are also available to all of their working age family members. These tools prepare Service Members to find a job quickly — often before they leave active duty. Early participation increases hiring potential and reduces DOD funds spent by each Military Branch on unemployment compensation.

The Stuttgart VTF is a limited service veterinary clinic with a primary mission to serve as medical support for the dogs of the 100th MWD Detachment, in addition to working to control zoonotic diseases (those communicable from animals to humans). Care for privately owned animals can be provided, on a space available basis.

Army Wellness Centers (AWC) provide standardized primary prevention programs and services designed to build and sustain good health and improve the overall healthy lifestyles of soldiers, reservists, retirees, civilians, and their family members. There are 35 Army Wellness Center Locations at garrisons around the world from Japan to Germany, so your test results follow you wherever you go to ensure continuity of care and to stay on track of your goals. The Army Wellness Center provides body composition, metabolic, and VO2 submaximal testing with accompanying fitness test, biofeedback sessions, sleep, stress, tobacco, and general nutrition education, individual and group health coaching, and unit testing/education. All appointments include examination of current health habits, analysis of risk factors, exploration of personal health/wellness goals, and an assessment of obstacles that may get in the way of consistent health habits.
