The National Resource Directory is one of the largest online collections of government and non-government resources specifically designed for Veterans, service members, their families and caregivers. With a unique collection of more than 16,000 organized and vetted resources, the directory provides information covering a variety of topics, including benefits and compensation, education, homeless assistance, housing and other services.

Academic Performance Training

Academic Performance Training (APT) includes skills that help optimize classroom performance and maximize academic results. The R2 Training Center customized training options include planning and prioritizing time, the Study Power Hour, memory and recall improvement, effective note taking, reading efficiency, effective study partnerships, and combating test anxiety.

Administrative Law and Civil Law Division

The Administrative and Civil Law Division provides premier legal advice and support to Commanders and staff in a variety of areas. These include civilian personnel and labor law, contract and fiscal law, environmental law, federal litigation, the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts, the Joint Ethics Regulation and Federal ethics laws, military administrative law (e.g., 15-6 investigations, line of duty investigations, and Financial Liability Investigation), and military personnel law.

Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual drinking water quality report prepared by an organization that provides drinking water through a community water system. The US EPA requires that water purveyors for community water systems provide a CCR to their customers by July 1st every year. Information contained in the CCR includes the source of drinking water, applicable water quality requirements, and water system monitoring results for the previous year.

Army Community Services (ACS)

The ACS center offers a number of programs designed to provide real life solutions for successful living.

Army Emergency Relief (AER)

A Soldier must always be ready for whatever the mission requires. AER helps ensure financial emergencies do not interfere with readiness. The program helps to prevent lack of such basic needs such as food, shelter and utilities through loans, or in dire circumstances, grants.

Army Family Action Plan (AFAP)

AFAP is a grassroots level forum for Soldiers, civilians, retirees and Family members to identify issues that affect quality of life and propose solutions that build self-reliance. The AFAP process further unites Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall and keeps all levels of the chain of command informed. Delegates from units on post and installation families represent America's Army Family by identifying, developing and prioritizing unit/community/installation quality of life issues.

Army Family Team Building

AFTB is an educational program that provides training to improve personal and Family preparedness. AFTB offers 3 levels of instruction ranging from basic skills (military acronyms, chain-of-command) to management skills (time management, group dynamics, etc.). AFTB is offered online or in a classroom setting.

Army Family Team Building (AFTB)

AFTB is a volunteer-led organization with a central tenet: providing training and knowledge to spouses and family members to support the total Army effort. Strong families are the pillar of support behind strong service personnel. It is AFTB's mission to educate and train all of the Army in knowledge, skills and behaviors designed to prepare Army Families to move successfully into the future. AFTB contributes to the Army mission by educating and training the Army family to be self-sufficient leaders within their communities. AFTB Level I focus on the basic skills and knowledge needed to live the military life. Level II allows the participant to grow into a community leader. Finally, Level III goes into inspiring and mentoring others into leadership positions.

ASAP provides classes, presentations, orientation briefings and information on substance abuse and its negative consequences.

Army Volunteer Corps

Army Volunteer Corps links volunteers with programs and community agencies that offer volunteer opportunities. Volunteering provides an opportunity to experience new career fields, gain additional training and become involved in meaningful work experiences.

Automotive Skills Program

The facility offers repairs, tune-ups, and regular maintenance on your vehicle with some assistance. The facility offers affordable regular maintenance on your vehicles by providing space, equipment, and help (if needed). Skilled staff members are on site and will answer technical questions and guide you through your self-service projects. The Auto Crafts Skills Center is equipped with vehicle lifts, a broad selection of tools and state-of-the-art equipment including online diagnostic databases, which include vehicle specific wiring diagrams, maintenance information, labor estimates, technical service bulletins, and recalls. We are equipped with most equipment necessary to help auto repair do-it-yourselfers. The JBM-HH Auto Crafts Skills Center is also disabled accessible thru the bay doors.

Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health Services serves Active Duty service members through the evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of psychosocial, environmental, medical, and psychiatric problems with an emphasis on health promotion, health maintenance, and recovery. All services are self-referral.

Bowling

Facility has 25-lane center that offers a variety of things to do: self directed bowling; glow bowling; seasonal leagues; birthday and bowling parties. We also offer group pizza and bowling packages to fit most any of your needs; or order from the center's menu of breakfast, lunch or dinner items. Facility has Java Café, where we proudly brew and serve Starbucks® coffee. Make plans to spend your Friday or Saturday evenings with us, as we turn down the lights and turn up the tunes for Glow Bowling.

The Central Issue Facility (military clothing) is a Logistics Readiness Center branch of the Supply and Services Division and also features Clothing Equipment Repair and alterations.

Child Development Center

The Cody Child Development Center offers quality full day care, in a nurturing and loving environment that promotes educational development. The Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized accreditation system for all types of early childhood programs and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators. Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS)

We consider it a privilege to share in the growth and development of your child and we hope that it will be a positive experience for your familyOur programs offer quality child care and out of school care options provided by highly trained staff. Our developmental programming is designed to stimulate a child’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual skills. Civilian Personnel Advisory Center

CPAC support services include Appropriated Fund and Non- Appropriated Fund recruitment, staffing, position management, classification, labor relations, management-employee relations, workforce planning and benefits and entitlements.

Claims Office

Investigates and settles claims against United States under the Military and Civilian Personnel Claims Act, Federal Tort Claims Act and Military Claims Act. Asserts and settles claims on behalf of the United States under the Federal Claims Collection Act, Federal Medical Care Recovery Act and Military and Civilian Personnel Claims Act.

Community Activities Center

Self directed games are available and include, pool, and table tennis. Facility has Lay-Z Boys to watch a show; a movie or sports game on one of four 60-inch plasma TV’s. Martial Arts and Piano instructions are provided. Leisure Travel Services is housed at this location. Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program is located on this site and supports Soldier directed programs. Rooms are available for rent (user fees) upon availability.

Community Health Nurse

Manages the tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infection and communicable disease programs and serves as a health consultant for the Child Youth and School Services. Plays a key role in the management of the annual influenza vaccination campaign. The community health nurse offers many health education prograams as well as provide data collection to identify potential health threasts to the community

CYSS HIRED! Program

The HIRED! Apprenticeship Program provides 15-18 year-old youth with meaningful, professionally-managed career-exploration opportunities in Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) operations. The HIRED program offers valuable paid work experience and training to better equip each participant with the skills needed for a highly-competitive job market.

CYSS Sports and Fitness

The JBM-HH Youth Sports and Fitness program is dedicated to providing quality sports and fitness activities for children, ages 3-18.

CYSS Youth Services

Youth Services provides activities for JBM-HH youth in kindergarten to 12th grades. Activities include camps, youth sports, social and leisure activities and youth development opportunities.

Dental Clinic

There are currently four dental officers and two full-time hygienists. To schedule an appointment, please walk in or phone 703-696-3460 during normal duty hours. To make an appointment by telephone, your dental records must be present in the dental clinic. After normal duty hours, if you have a valid dental emergency (trauma, large facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing), you must report to the Emergency Room at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

Deputy State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Deputy State Epidemiologist assists the state epidemiologist in providing scientific and epidemiological expertise. Deputy state epidemiologist, serves as an additional subject matter expert resource for public health and epidemiology.

Directorate of Emergency Services (DES)

The Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) is made up of Office of the Provost Marshal and the Fort Myer Fire Department. The Fort Myer Fire and Emergency Services Division is committed to providing the highest level of broad-based Fire, Rescue and Emergency medical services to those entrusted in our care. We will work to prevent harm to people, personnel, government property and the environment, through education, training and prevention programs. (Police Operations, Physical Security, Privately Owned Weapons Registration and Storage, Visitor Control Center and Motorcycles.

District of Columbia Health Department

Education Center

The Fort Myer Education Center provides adult education opportunities and services for active duty and reserve component soldiers. Adult family members, civilian employees, and retirees are also welcome. Services include educational counseling, testing, college programs, a Multi-use Learning Facility, and much more.

Employee Assistance Program

ASAP conducts assessments and makes referrals for civilian employees on all personal problems and provides training on prevention of violence in the workplace.

Employment Readiness Program

The Employment Readiness Program assists job seekers with their employment search strategy. Classes and services include assessing career goals, interests and skills; information on local employment opportunities; applying for federal jobs; in-house job board; resources for job training through local and DoD programs; job fairs; individual resume consultations; access to computers for job search; and teen employment opportunities.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

To enhance readiness and family resiliency, EFMP enrollment is required by AR 608-75 for all active duty family members with medical and/or educational special needs. Updates are required at a minimum of every three years or sooner, as changes occur, in order for Human Resources Command (HRC) to consider all aspects of the family member's special needs in the assignment process and avoid family member travel to areas that cannot support their special needs. Medical treatment facility EFMP Case Coordinators worldwide can assist families with the enrollment process during its initial, update, or disenrollment phases. ACS EFMP managers navigate families through the maze of both military and civilian local/national resources, and ensure during PCS.

Family Advocacy Program

The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) provides services and education for families in prevention of domestic violence and child abuse through community awareness campaigns, life skills education classes, professional education and troop commander briefings. FAP is divided into two areas the enrichment program and support services, located at ACS; and intervention services (counseling), located at the Andrew Rader Clinic. Topics offered in the enrichment program include couple and parent-child communication skills; effective management of children's behavior; conflict management; and effective management of stress and anger in relationships. Special programs that fall under Family Advocacy are the New Parent Support Program (NPSP) and Victim Advocacy Program (VAP).

Financial Readiness Program

The Financial Readiness Program (FRP) promotes readiness by counseling and educating service members and their families in all areas of consumer and financial topics and ensures that emergency assistance is available when needed. The mission of FRP is to reduce indebtedness and requests for emergency financial assistance and to prevent financial difficulties before they arise.

Household Goods Transit

Arrangement of household goods begins once the service member receives orders and a destination site has been determined. Specific arrangements for shipments normally begin at the local transportation office or www.move.mil . Each pay grade has its own weight allowance, which is the maximum weight that can be moved at government expense under JFTR. The allowance includes the weight of household goods shipped, placed in storage or sent as unaccompanied baggage. Anything exceeding the maximum weight allowance must be paid by the service member. (Professional books, paper, gear/equipment is excluded from the authorized allowance.) Please note that if you are going OCONUS, your weight allowance may be less

Housing

Family Housing at Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall consists of 89 historic dwelling units on Fort Myer, Virginia and Fort McNair, Washington DC. Family housing is very limited and although all officer quarters are designated for key and essential positions there are limited quantities of enlisted quarters available on a first come basis.

Housing Environmental Health Response Registry

The Housing Environmental Health Response Registry is a resource for residents to report housing-related health information and concerns. Residents will be invited to enroll in the registry and initiate an exchange with public health professionals. Registry participants will receive information on in-home environmental health, assistance in seeking medical care, and an opportunity to share concerns with Army leadership.

Identification Cards

ID Cards for military personnel, family members and Civilian employees can be obtained at one of the ID card sites in the National Capital Region. The ID Card section also handles DEERS enrollment for family members. Appointments ONLY

Immunizations

All Vitamin B12 injections must have active orders from PCM here in Rader Clinic throughout the week; Tuberculosis Screening: In order to have an IPPD placement test performed you must be enrolled in our facility and have your PCM at this location. After placement, all patients must return to the immunization clinic no earlier than 48 and no later than 72 hours to have the test read. All IPPD placements must be read by the clinic that placed them. Andrew Rader will not read tests from any other medical facility.

Infectious Disease Epidemiologist

State Health Department Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program The contact information provided is for the chief infectious disease epidemiologist in that program. Within these programs, each state conducts disease surveillance, collects information on reportable diseases from all healthcare providers and hospitals, and from local and regional health departments. Each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program investigates disease outbreaks, analyzes and distributes information on the incidence and prevalence of infectious diseases, health events, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases. States provide considerable disease and state-specific information on their state health agency’s website and search engine.

Inspector General

The Inspector General office inquires into matters that concern the community at the direction of the installation commander. Soldiers, Family Members and DoD Civilians may also request to meet confidentially with the inspector general.

Intramural Sports Program/Outdoor Sports Fields and Complexes

The FMWR athletics and intramural sports calendar offers 20+ sports and special events. We offer five team sports throughout the calendar year (flag football, basketball, softball, volleyball and indoor soccer). We also hold eight 5k or 10k race events from March through December culminating in the Holiday Toy Drive. Each February, FMWR hosts the largest all military basketball tournament on U.S. soil - the Capital Classic Basketball Tournament. Three times a year, we host a rolling SLICE of Summer Golf Scramble to crown JBM-HH’s best of the fairway.

We strive everyday to provide the best diagnostic laboratory support to your Health Care Provider in a team effort to provide you with the best care anywhere. Our laboratory has made it OUR standard to continuously exceed the MEDCOM standard for patient wait times, ensuring that you not only get quality service but also don’t have to wait very long to get it. Our lab is frequented by patients throughout the National Capital Region because of our reputation for both speed and accuracy in obtaining specimens from our patients with courteous and patient centered service, a reputation we work hard to uphold every day.

Legal Assistance

The Legal Assistance Division of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate for the Military District of Washington is committed to providing quality legal assistance services to all eligible clients, including active duty/activated soldiers, military retirees, and family members. We provide client services for a variety of legal issues including family law, wills and estate planning, tax law, landlord/ tenant matters, contract disputes, and consumer law. By Military Regulation attorneys are not authorized to provide representation in civilian courts. Attorney referral list is available upon request.

Leisure Travel Services

Dedicated professional, trained staff provides personal assistance who provide discounted tickets to local attractions; movie tickets; a limited number of Redskins tickets are available for purchase; amusement park tickets such as Six Flags Over America or King’s Dominion can be provided.

Library/Information Services

The JBM-HH Library has a versatile collection of books, audio-visual materials, magazines and E-resources for adults and children. This collection supports general and professional interests, recreational reading, and academics. In addition, there are ten public computers equipped with Microsoft Office, Internet access and printing. Printing cost is $.15 per page. Also available is a photocopier, a fax machine and WiFi. Local Air Quality Information

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a tool to communicate the status of local air quality to the public—the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is derived from real-time air pollution measurements taken at monitoring stations throughout the United States. The AQI has three components: a color, a score and a health message recommending protective action based on the level of air pollution. McNair Club Food, Beverage and Entertainment

McNair Club is a catering facility that provides a southern style buffet once weekly. The club provides space for a wide variety of events including wedding ceremonies, receptions, military ceremonies, seminars, lectures, board meetings, conferences, fundraisers, special events and holiday parties. Front lawn is ideal for breath taking photos for weddings or engagements! The facility has three rooms that are used for a myriad of special and catered events: small (50 sit down - 75 standing guests); medium (60 sit down - 120 standing guests) and one large (160 -180) dining rooms. Picnic grounds are available for rent at a reasonable rate and can accommodate approximately 200 guests. We are able to provide water for dunk tanks, volleyball net, horseshoe pits, and a playground for children. Audio and visual equipment is available; elevators; and WiFi is available. Dress Code

Medication Management

Services Offered: Medication review, Tobacco cessation counseling; Glucometer training for patients ages 18 and older; Medication review is available for those patients that take 5 or more medications and want to have them checked for adverse medication interactions or for duplication; Tobacco cessation counseling is available for those patients that need assistance with quitting tobacco use. Group sessions are available upon request; Glucometer training is available to assist patient with monitoring their blood glucose at home.

Designed to help empower military caregivers with information about national-level resources and programs specifically for them. Topics include: helplines, advocacy and benefit information, career transitions and employment, military caregiver support, children’s needs, education and training, financial support, rest and relaxation, and others.

Military Caregiver Virtual Forum

Military caregivers may join their peers virtually in a Department of Defense online forum every month to discuss topics that they choose and network with others who are experiencing similar challenges. Caregivers learn skills to overcome challenges and share resources.

The Military Justice Section's mission is to provide full spectrum of military justice support which includes advising all Commanders and Senior Non-Commission Officers within the National Capital Region, prosecuting courts-martial, assisting victims, adjudicating adverse administrative actions, and instructing in preventative law.

Mobilization and Deployment

The Mobilization, Deployment and Family Readiness Program provides Deployment Cycle Support Briefings, Family Readiness Group assistance, information and referral services, resource materials, and Operation R.E.A.D.Y. training. Training provides practical instruction pertaining to ongoing readiness throughout the deployment cycle. Materials are designed to support unit commanders in preparing service members, civilian employees and their Families for separation, deployment and reunion.

Mobilization, Deployment and Family Readiness

The Mobilization, Deployment and Family Readiness Program provides Soldiers and emergency-essential civilians, their families, Family Readiness Group leaders, Family Readiness Support Assistants, command teams/rear detachment command teams and activated Guard and Reserve forces the necessary training and resources to ensure mission readiness. Included are the tools for learning and preparing for stability and support operations (includes mass causalities, evacuation and natural disasters) and all phases of the deployment cycle: pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment. These tools and materials are designed to support unit commanders in preparing service members, civilian employees and their families for ongoing military operations. Additionally, the Mobilization, Deployment and Family Readiness Program provides support for Non-combatant Evacuation Operations and Repatriation.

Motorcycle Registration

For motorcycle registration a DoD Motorcycle Safety Foundation Course is required for all military members. Civilians must provide motorcycle endorsement on thier driver's license

Muslim Service

Myer Club Food, Beverage and Entertainment

Myer club is a memberships club that offers a variety of dining and banquet rooms and halls to fit a wide variety of events, celebrations and meals. Facility is open to non members for lunch buffet and ala carte menu in one of two dining area and on Sundays, a Champagne Brunch. There is a dress code for to enjoy dining in the facility. The facility features special events, live entertainment and dancing with a great social hour for members and their guests. A casual lounge menu is available and features a happy hour! During summer months, a swimming pool complex is available for use that has four pools to include: a 25-meter lap pool, a 50-meter lap pool, a baby pool, and a figure-8 pool. The figure-8 offers swimmers a diving board and two slides for their enjoyment. Pools offer a variety of swim lessons. “Dive-in movies” are held in the pool. Audio and visual equipment available; elevators and WiFi are available.

Myer Fitness Center

Myer Fitness Center offers a modern, fully equipped and professionally staffed fitness facility for the use of the military community, offering numerous classes and programs.

New Parent Support Program

The program's goal is to support the needs of Army Families by assisting new parents in coping with demands of parenthood and Army life, to increase their parenting knowledge and skills, to enhance the lives of newborns and all Army children, and to reduce the occurrence of child abuse and neglect. The New Parent Support staff consists of a registered nurse and a social worker with expertise in home visiting with young Army Families, and referral resources to the community. The New Parent Support Program offers the following services to Army Families: home visiting, support, education, play-mornings, referrals and resources on the installation and in the community.

New Parent Support Program (NPSP)

NPSP assists parents in coping with demands of parenthood while increasing their parenting knowledge and skills, to enhance the lives of their children and reduce the occurrence of child abuse and neglect.

Optometry

Active duty and retired military personnel are eligible to order military spectacles in the clinic Optical shop during working hours as a walk-in service. Family members are not eligible for this service. Retirees are limited to certain selections and are authorized one frame every 12 months.

Pediatrics

During normal duty hours, a pediatric nurse is available to answer questions you may have regarding routine infant and child care, or the care of your sick child.

Pharmacy

The Andrew Rader US Army Health Clinic (ARUSAHC) Pharmacy processes new, renewal, and refill prescriptions. A maximum of a 90-day supply can be dispensed for maintenance medications at any given time. Controlled substances are dispensed at a maximum of a 30-day supply (with few exceptions).

Police Operations

Responsible for the daily operations of law enforcement patrols, emergency response dispatching and the JBM-HH Police Station. Functions include police patrolling, desk operations, emergency 911 dispatching, traffic accident investigations, criminal investigations, military dog services, animal control assistance, and community support

Ready and Resilient Training Center

Ready and Resilient training, Performance Enhancement training, Engage training, Not in my Squad training, Training for special populations, goal setting, adaptive reconditioning, and Warrior games support training for Service members, Family members, and Civilians. Performance Training enhances mental agility and adaptability throughout one's life, leading to optimal performance and personal readiness. R2 Training Centers provide performance skills that include instruction in mental skills foundations, confidence building, effective goal setting, attention control, energy management and imagery.

Relocation Readiness Program

This program helps reduce the stress of change and moving with up-to-date information on military installations worldwide, overseas orientations, a lending closet with basic household goods, welcome packets, multicultural services and sponsorship training

Safety Office

Responsible for the reduction of accidental loss of manpower and other resources by providing a safe and healthful working, living, and recreational environment for all Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Civilians, partners, residents, guests and visitors in accordance with AR 385-10 (Army Safety Program). Serve as the senior advisor to the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Garrison Commander and staff for all policies and procedures relating to Safety and Occupational Health. Develop and execute the Army Safety Program.

School Liaison Services

The School Liaison Officer (SLO) serves as the liaison between the joint base commander, military agencies and school organizations by providing assistance in matters pertaining to student education and school operations and implements the Strategic Planning for Education Advocacy recommendations in order to ensure a quality educational program for all military students. The SLO is the focal point of contact between the military installation, the local school administration, parents and the community at large. Specific responsibilities include advising the commander on all matters concerning student education and school operations; fostering a responsive, cooperative relationship between school representatives and the military community; and maintaining school transition support for military children.

School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills (SKIES)

SKIES Unlimited encompasses instructional programs for children and youth ranging from six weeks old to adolescence. Through SKIES Unlimited, children and youth in Child Development Services, School Age Services (SAS), Middle School Teen Center and Parent Outreach Services (POS) Programs, as well as Home Schooled Children have equal access to opportunities that expand their knowledge, inspire them and allow them to explore and acquire new skills. SKIES Unlimited has a four school system. The four schools are School of Sports, School of Arts, School of Life Skills and School of Academic Skills.

Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention

Focus on victim and do what is necessary and appropriate to support victim recovery, and to support victims who are service members to be fully mission capable and engaged.

SHARP Annual Refresher Training

Training is comprised of two distinct parts: Part I: Face-to-face, interactive, small group sessions focused on prevention, intervention and resources and Part II: Online, self-study training. Both parts of training must be completed by the end of each fiscal year.

Soldier for Life- Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP)

The Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP -- formerly Army Career and Alumni Program -- ACAP) is located on the Fort Myer portion of the joint base, Building 404. SFL-TAP assists transitioning military personnel, their family members and certain Department of Defense civilian employees by providing job search assistance, a variety of general transition assistance courses, seminars and one-on-one job search, financial and career counseling. Services offered include federal and civilian resume writing, networking, interviewing skills, conducting job market research, dress for success, salary negotiations, how to start a business, franchise opportunity, financial planning, how to pursue higher education, how to pursue technical training and marketing your skills.

Spate's Club and Conference Center

Spates Community Club and Conference Center provides spaces for a myriad of special events. The facility has five rooms ranging in size to accommodate small (25) to large (250) gatherings; one of which is a sports bar with pool tables and 60" flat screen televisions. A catering menu is available for specific details. Floor plans are available on line. Audio visual equipment available; plenty of parking and WiFi is available. Relaxed dress code.

Special Victim Counsel

Special Victims Counsel (SVC) are legal assistance attorneys who have received special training and are designated by the Staff Judge Advocate as SVCs. •An SVC’s role is to zealously represent you. This means, an SVC’s primary duty is to you and no other person, organization, or entity. •SVC will work to empower you by fostering your understanding of the military justice process and providing you with legal assistance. This will be accomplished by providing effective and timely advice, being available to assist throughout the entire military justice process, and providing appropriate advocacy to ensure that the rights you are entitled to are fully realized. •The mission of the SVC is to provide you with confidential legal representation related to issues that may arise as a result of being sexually assaulted.

State Epidemiologist

State Health Department Lead State Epidemiologist is an appointed primary state epidemiologist, responsible for the identification and response for all health threats that occur within that state. This individual is selected by each state’s primary health official (usually the state health department director), or the state board of health. A state epidemiologist is usually responsible for each state’s infectious disease epidemiology program, often along with many other state health agency programs involved in disease detection and prevention.

State Public Health Laboratory

State Health Department Laboratory conducts laboratory testing for most all analysis requirements for public health surveillance. This may include monitoring and detection testing for environmental health, food safety, infectious diseases, newborn screening, public health preparedness, radiation safety, and many other tests. State public health laboratories are part of the National Laboratory Network, and respond to novel strains of disease, natural disasters, chemical spills, foodborne outbreaks, and other public health emergencies.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)

Survivor Outreach Services demonstrates the Army's commitment to Families of the Fallen by supporting them for as long as they desire. Our mission is to provide enhanced services to Surviving Families by delivering services that help them manage their bereavement and financial needs by using a holistic and multi-agency approach. Service delivery is provided closest to where the Survivor resides or desires.

Tax Center

MISSION: To provide the JBM-HH community with professional, accurate and free income tax preparation assistance and advice. OVERVIEW: The Tax Center will be the first point of contact for all eligible individuals in the National Capital Region with tax questions, problems or concerns. The Tax Center is on the second floor of Building 205. Walk-ins are accepted. HOURS OF OPERATION ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND DIFFER FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL BASED ON PHYSICAL TRAINING SCHEDULES AND OTHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS.

Trial Defense Service

The United States Army Trial Defense Service’s mission is to provide a full-range of defense legal services to Soldiers. These services include: •Representing Soldiers charged with violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) at courts-martial and Article 32 pretrial investigations; •Representing Soldiers during criminal investigations and before elimination or grade reduction boards; •Counseling Soldiers regarding pretrial restraint, no judicial punishment (Article 15s), and various adverse administrative actions taken pursuant to military regulations

Veterinary Services

Provides care to pets belonging to past and present warriors for the Army's showcase community in the National Capital Region. Provides full-time routine and emergency care for Military working dogs and Platoon horses by providing preventive medicine and routine care.

Victim Advocacy Program (VAP)

The VAP mission is to protect the victims of abuse and provide services to ensure that each person who is a victim of domestic violence, is provided support and assistance with safety planning, emergency shelter, assistance with court and their legal rights, and support group resources and information.

Visitor Control Center

The Visitor Control Center serves to accept and process Automated Installation Entry pass applications for those visitors and contractors who do not qualify for a DoD ID card.

Weapons Registration & Storage

Must register their privately-owned weapons with the Directorate of Emergency Services withing 72 hours after establishing residency on JBM-HH. Storage of weapons must be in a locked container such as gun cabinet, lockable closet, or gun case. Lost or stolen weapons should be reported to DES.
