Group classes are offered for the following conditions: prediabetes, newly diagnosed diabetes, gestational diabetes, bariatric surgery and weight loss (for both Active Duty Service and Family Members). A follow-up, individual appointment with a Registered Dietitian is available after attending the above classes.
Patients with other diet-related conditions, such as heart healthy (high blood pressure or cholesterol monitoring) diet therapy, sports or performance nutrition counseling, gastrointestinal support for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome or disease or fatty liver or management of dietary allergies, may schedule an individual appointment with a Registered Dietitian.

Camp Bullis Rod-n-Gun Recreation Center
Open to DOD Cardholders to fire their personally-owned firearms (pistols, rifles and shotguns 7.62 caliber or less). Fort Sam Houston Akeroyd Blood Donor Center
The Akeroyd Blood Donor Center collects whole blood and platelet apheresis donations (by appointment). Your donation helps to ensure the high quality care of our service members, retirees and family members worldwide. The Army Blood Program, a service component of the tri-service Armed Services Blood Program, is currently involved in an initiative to collect licensed fresh plasma from volunteer donors. The donations will be converted into freeze-dried plasma, a new product that may significantly increase the survival rates for service members wounded on the battlefield.

METC Fitness Center (MWR)
The METC Fitness and Sports Center offers a variety of strength equipment and cardio machines. These include squat racks, free weights, selectorized strength equipment, treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair climbers, Jacob’s Ladders, and much more. Upstairs, we have a 200m (1/8 mile) indoor track with three lanes in case the Texas heat is too much. We have two basketball courts with newly finished wooden floors. We also have a covered outdoor BeaverFit Gym Box, complete with squat racks and all of the functional fitness equipment you’ll need to have a great workout.

R2 Performance Center (Ready and Resilient)
The Ready and Resilient Performance (R2) program have been tasked with ensuring our service members, their families, and Army civilians have the training and knowledge to improve their psychological health and resiliency. School Age Services (SAS)
The SAS Program is accredited by the National After School Association and certified by Department of Defense an offers a Before and After School Program, Open Recreation Program, Reserve Hourly Care, Seasonal Camps (Spring, Fall, Winter, and Summer) and Teacher In-Service Camps for children in first through sixth grades.
The Before School Program operates Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. until school begins on Fort Sam Houston Elementary School regular school days. The After School Program begins at the release from school and until 6 p.m. daily. All children using the School-Age Services Program must be registered with Child and Youth Services Central Registration.

Unmet Needs is there to help America's military families who have run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other military-related activity or injury. The program provides financial aid grants of up to $1,500 to assist with basic life needs in the form of a grant - not a loan - so no repayment is required. The Warrior and Family Support Center (WFSC) provides coordinated services and support to all wounded, injured, or ill active duty service members that are receiving medical treatment within the JBSA, Texas area. Including their next-of-kin/extended family members, and the Gold Star (SOS) Families.
